2 Introduction
This is a guide to the software installation, configuration and commissioning of the
MK8000 OPC Server.
Overview
MK8000 is an OPC server that can represent a number of safety and security objects
as multi-state OPC items.
MK8000 software can be installed on a single machine or distributed on a network.
MK8000 is fully compliant with OPC Standard V2.0 (see on the Internet:
www.opcfoundation.org). Specifi
cally, it supports all the required COM interfaces
described in the OPC Data Access (DA) Custom Interface Standard V 2.05, section
3.1.
In the OPC items, Multi-state values can be provided in a numeric, threshold-based
form or as bit-mask representation. Each point (object) is represented by as many as
three OPC Items, providing the objects status, the map of available commands, and
the control command, respectively. Please see
