IfthePinPointXdoesn’treceiveacknowledgementfora
“window”,themodemwillPINGtheserverwithamessage
containingthesequencenumbersofthefirstandlastpackets
thathaven’tbeenacknowledged.ThePinPointXwillcontinue
untiltheserveracknowledgesreceipt.WhenthePinPointX
receivestheacknowledgement,it
willadvanceits“window”to
thenextgroup.
WhenthePinPointXisfirstpoweredon(orreset),itwillsend
aSetWindowmessagetosyncupwiththeserverforthe
current“window”.
Ontheotherside,iftheserverreceivesanoutofsequence
packet,itwillsendamessagetothemodemnotingthemissing
sequenceandthePinPointXwillretransmit.
