TAIP Emulation Configuration
TheTAIPemulationfunctionalityallowsthePinPointXto
operateinalimitedmannerwithclientswhichonlyunder
standtheTrimbleASCIIInterfaceProtocol(TAIP).This
emulationisenabledbysettingtheGPSreportformat,
directingthemodemtolistenforTAIPmessages,and
disablingRAPformattedmessagestothesameinterface.
TAIP ID
TAIPmessagescanbeconfiguredtosendtheuserspecified
identificationnumber(ID).Thisgreatlyenhancesthe
functionalcapabilityoftheunitinanetworkenvironment.Set
theIDusing*PPTAIPID.

Caution: When TAIP emulation is enabled, RAP will be disabled and
no RAP messages or commands will be sent or received on that port.
