Function Description
HS fixed Autopilot/steering gear
interface with fixed
level signals
Output contact is closed when autopilot requests
steering gear control.
Input to be closed as long as steering gear is
available for autopilot control (normally a “ready
signal).
HS pulse Autopilot/steering gear
interface with pulse
signals
Output contact is closed for 1 sec when autopilot
requests steering gear control.
Input to be closed as long as steering gear is
available for autopilot control.
Override
Dodge
Manual override with
fallback to AUTO
When input contact is closed, autopilot will give
override warning, acknowledge with closed output
contact and go to STBY mode. When input opens,
output contact will open and autopilot returns to
AUTO mode on present heading. Typically used for
joystick hand steering with override button on top.

When input contact is closed, autopilot will give
override warning, acknowledge with closed output
contact and lock to STBY mode. When input opens,
output contact will open and autopilot will unlock.
This function is normally related to regulations for
automatic override when main hand steering is
operated.

FU/DP control
When input contact is closed, autopilot will respond
with closed output, display “External” and use the
installed current or voltage input to the RUD UI
plug of SD80/AD80 board for follow up rudder
control.
