Mountingonpurseseine
Location
Whenyoumountthesensoronthegear,choosethelocation
whereyouwishtomonitordepthandheight.Thisisnormally
belowthefootrope.Inordertosecureastablecommunication
withthevessel,andtomeasuretheheight,itisveryimportant
thatthesensorisallowedtohangfreelywiththetopendpointing
towardsthesurfaceduringshootingandpursing.
Installationonapurseseine
Attachthesensortoastandardpurseringwithtwoseparate
chains(A).Mountoneendofeachchaintoacommonsnaphook
(B),andsecurethehookonthefootrope.Mounttheotherend
ofeachchaintooneofthesensor’slowerlugsusingtwosturdy
quicklinks.Mountasafetywire(C)betweenoneofthesensor’s
lowerlugsandanywhereonthenetexceptonthefootrope.Make
surethatsecuritylinedoesnotpreventthesensorfromhanging
freely!
Note
Youmustmakesurethatthesensorismountedverticallywith
itsrearendpointingtowardstheseabed.Unlessthetopend
ofthesensorpointstowardsthesurface,youmayloosethe
communicationlink.
