ThischapterexplainshowyoushallrechargethebatteryinthePI
SeineSoundersensor,andhowyoushallbestmaintainthesensor.
PISeineSoundermaintenance
Onceinstalledandputtouse,thesensorwillautomaticallybe
switchedononcethewaterswitchisactivated.Afteraninitial
start-up,thesensorstartstransmissionofthemeasureddatait
collects.
Whenthesensorisnotinuse,checkthatthesensorlampisnot
ashing,asthisindicatesthatthesensorisactiveanddischarging
itsbatteries.Inthiscase,washthesensorinfreshwater.
Allsensorsareequippedwithawaterswitch,andtwodifferent
typesareused.Ifyoursensorisequippedwithasacricialbrass
screw,observethefollowingprocedureforreplacement.
1Turnthesensorupsidedown,andlocatethebrassscrew.
2Inspectthescrewforwearandtear.
3Ifreplacementisrequired,locateanewscrew.
Beforeanewscrewisinserted,AquaShield(orasimilar
underwaterlubricant)mustbeapplied.Duetothesizeof
thetube,werecommendthatthegreaseisappliedfrom
asyringe.
4ApplyAquaShieldtothescrewthreads.
5Insertthescrew,mountrmly,butnottoohard.Use
maximumtorque1.5NM
ApackwithtenscrewsandatubeofAquaShieldcanbe
orderedfromSimradasasparepartskit.
