ADJUSTING UPPER TENSION
To increase upper tension, turn upper tension
regulator to higher number.
To decrease upper tension, turn upper tension
regulator to lower number.
Turning tension regulator from “0” to “9" will
increase tension. Normal sewing is performed
between ”4” and “5”.
Note: Normal stitches will be performed on the red
zone at 4, 5 and 6 for regular cotton threads.

Upper Thread Tension Too Loose
Upper Thread Tension Too Tight
A perfect straight stitch will be formed with both
threads interlocking in fabric as shown in Fig. 1.
When using the zig zag stitch for embroidery
(satin stitching), decrease upper tension so that
top surface will look smooth at the expense of the
bottom surface.
