Crossover Wiring
Because the 10/100 Mbps port on the access point uses an MDI pin configuration,
you must use “crossover” cable for network connections to PCs, servers or other
end nodes that only have MDI ports. However, if the device to which you are
connecting supports auto-MDIX operation, you can use either “straight-through” or
“crossover” cable.
Console Port Pin Assignments
The DB-9 console port on the front panel of the access point is used to connect to
the access point for out-of-band console configuration. The command-line
configuration program can be accessed from a terminal, or a PC running a terminal
emulation program. The pin assignments and cable wiring used to connect to the
console port are provided in the following table.
