2. Safety information 2.1 Symbols used in these instructions Important information regarding your safety is specially marked. 2.4 Power supply English The device is operated with electrical power, which means that there is the fundamental danger of receiving an electric shock. Therefore pay particular attention to the following: • Never touch the power plug with wet hands. • If you want to pull the power plug out of the power socket, always pull directly on the power plug. Never pull on the cable since it might tear.
2.7 Transportation • When driving in a car, store the device in such a way that the passengers are not endangered. • If you ship the device, store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose. 2.8 Environmental conditions The safe operation of the device presumes that the environmental conditions are appropriate for the device. Only those connection cables and external devices may be used that correspond to the current device in respect to safety, electromagnetic compatibility and shielding quality. This device fulfils all relevant standards and guidelines in respect to CE conformity. If the device is altered in a way that has not been coordinated with the manufacturer, the compliance with these standards and guidelines is no longer guaranteed.

7. Setting the basic functions English 1. Switch on the device by briefly touching the sonoro lettering. 2. Press the menu button of the elements W or the remote control for a long time until the setup menu appears. set separately and that additional languages are available here (see iRadio mode section 12.5.4). 7.2 Setting the brightness of the display and navigation ring The brightness of the display and ring backlight can be set independently of each other in three steps (display) and four steps (ring backlight). This function is also available in the stand-by mode of the device. NOTE The lifespan of an OLED display decreases as the brightness increases.

This function is also available in the stand-by mode of the device. 1.
7.5 Setting the time (in iRadio mode) In addition to the already mentioned option of setting the time, the iRadio mode also gives you the option of setting the time automatically through the Internet. 1. Press the menu button of the elements W or the remote control for a long time until the setup menu appears. 2. Select the clock entry by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons and confirm the selection by pressing the menu button again.

Setting the Sleep timer to 0, it will deactivate the sleep timer. 7.
8. Alarm function English With the sonoro elements W, you can be woken up with the radio, iPod or iRadio . All settings are performed through the alarm settings function, which you can access through the ALARM button at the top of the device or directly on the remote control. Alternatively, you can also select the alarm setting function in the setup menu. All alarm functions can also be set in the stand-by mode of the device. 8.2 Alarm function through FM-radio, iPod, iRadio or buzzer 1. Press the ALARM button at the top of the device until the alarm setting function appears. 2. Select the entry source with the UP or DOWN buttons and confirm the selection by pressing the menu button. 3. NOTE The audio playback always begins at a minimum volume and is slowly increased to the set volume. 4. After confirming the selected level, the device automatically returns to the previous menu. To exit the menu, press the BACK button repeatedly until you have returned to the desired menu item or wait approx.
8.5 Turning off the alarm after the alarm sound • To turn off the alarm, press the ALARM button. Alternatively you can also turn off the alarm by pressing the menu button or touching the on/off sensor. Then the alarm is skipped until the next day. • If you want to turn the alarm off completely, press the ALARM button. Then the ALARM symbol on the display disappears. • To activate the snooze function, press the SNOOZE button. The remaining snooze time is shown on the display.

The symbol will be shown again. 10.3 Selecting the playback mode For the selection of the audio playback mode, such as iPod, FM radio, iRadio or AUX, select the appropriate mode by pressing the MODE button.
English 11. FM-Radio playback 1. Switch on the device by briefly touching the sonoro lettering. The device always starts at the most recently heard radio station. 2. If the device starts in another mode, e.g. because it was switched off in another mode through the sleep timer, press the MODE button and select the FM mode.
11.1 Searching for a station • • • To find the next station with a strong signal in the lower frequency range, press the DOWN button on the navigation ring until the scanning starts on the display. To find the next station with a strong signal in the higher frequency range, press the UP button on the navigation ring until the scanning starts on the display. To manually set another frequency, briefly press the DOWN button or UP button. The frequency will be switched one step at a time.

Internet radio is based on a data stream that is offered to you free of charge by the individual radio stations and which your elements W converts into music or language. Downloading these data result in increased data traffic through your connection. Depending on your contract, this can result in additional charges. 1. 12.2.2 Genre 1. If you would like to select the station by genre, select the genre function and confirm your selection by pressing the menu button. 2. Now you will receive a list with categories for which radio stations have been stored.

Your elements W will now try to establish a connection to the desired station. This is signaled by the station name and establishment of a connection on the display. If a compatible data stream is available, your elements W will shortly start playing back the desired station. 8. To switch to a station that has already been set, press the BACK button and continue as described above.

12.3 My stuff The menu item My stuff appears on the device after the successful registration at mysonoro. com as well as the selection of at least one station in your favorites folder on this website. In general, this menu gives you the option of accessing your favorite stations etc. very quickly, which you can quickly and conveniently set up and organize at mysonoro.com. More information about this function and how you can properly set it up and use it can be found at mysonoro. com. 12.
English Access the directory containing the folder you would like to share and click with the right mouse button on the respective folder icon. When the context menu opens, select Properties. Select the Sharing tab and then select Advanced Sharing. Now select the field Share this folder and confirm this selection by clicking on the Apply field.
If no folder is found although you have set up a share, this function may not be supported by your network hardware. Another possibility is that an active firewall is blocking it. Operating system Microsoft Windows XP (HOME) Access the directory containing the folder you would like to share (here music) and click with the right mouse button on the respective folder icon. When the context menu opens, select Sharing and security … .
English In the window that follows, select the sharing variant without assistant in the network share field. Confirm your entry by clicking on the Apply field and select Enable file sharing in the query that follows. Confirm the selection by clicking on OK. If this display looks different on your system, please just continue with the following item. The following window can also appear directly after the selection of the context menu item Sharing and security if sharing has already been set up previously.
Activate the two fields Share this folder on the network and Network users can change files. Under share name, enter the name that you would like to be displayed on your elements W. Confirm the entry by clicking on OK. Now the folder icon of the folder you would like to share has changed. It shows that a share has been activated for this folder. Your elements W should now be able to find the shared directory.
English Directory input This menu item functions for the new input of the shared network directory. 12.4.2 UPNP Server Here you have the option of accessing files and playlists that are stored on and shared by an available network PC through Windows Media Player. The Windows Media Player version 11 or higher is required for a successful connection, along with the appropriate share of the files in Media Player. Start Windows Media Player and click on the menu item Library.
Now the device icon will change and you can perform global settings through Settings and device-specific settings about the files to be played back through Customize. If desired, change the settings according to your preferences and confirm the entry by clicking the OK button. This process is the same for Microsoft Windows Vista and XP. The only difference may be that the Media Player has interfaces with different appearances. NOTE To play back files shared through Media Player, proceed as follows.
• • • The line [Add to playlist] will allow you to load the entire selected list into the memory of the device at once. As soon as a title has been selected, the device begins with the playback. The following selected titles are added to the playlist. To get to the next title, press the fast forward button on the remote control.
12.4.4 Clearing the playback This option deletes all of the stored playlists from the memory of the device. 12.5 Settings In this menu you have the option of customizing the various settings of your iRadio according to your preferences. 12.5.1 Network settings • Show config. In this menu you can receive information about the currently set values. By pressing the UP or DOWN buttons, you can also receive the serial number as well as the product code of the device. 12.5.3 Firmware update This functions to update the iRadio device software. Perform this function frequently. 12.5.4 Language Serves to set the language of the device in iRadio mode.

8. Alarm function English With the sonoro elements W, you can be woken up with the radio, iPod or iRadio . All settings are performed through the alarm settings function, which you can access through the ALARM button at the top of the device or directly on the remote control. Alternatively, you can also select the alarm setting function in the setup menu. All alarm functions can also be set in the stand-by mode of the device. 8.5 Turning off the alarm after the alarm sound • To turn off the alarm, press the ALARM button. Alternatively you can also turn off the alarm by pressing the menu button or touching the on/off sensor. Then the alarm is skipped until the next day. • If you want to turn the alarm off completely, press the ALARM button. Then the ALARM symbol on the display disappears. • To activate the snooze function, press the SNOOZE button. The remaining snooze time is shown on the display.

If the device starts in another mode, e.g. because it was switched off in another mode through the sleep timer, press the MODE button and select the FM mode.
11.1 Searching for a station • • • To find the next station with a strong signal in the lower frequency range, press the DOWN button on the navigation ring until the scanning starts on the display. To find the next station with a strong signal in the higher frequency range, press the UP button on the navigation ring until the scanning starts on the display. To manually set another frequency, briefly press the DOWN button or UP button. The frequency will be switched one step at a time.

12.3 My stuff The menu item My stuff appears on the device after the successful registration at mysonoro. com as well as the selection of at least one station in your favorites folder on this website. In general, this menu gives you the option of accessing your favorite stations etc. very quickly, which you can quickly and conveniently set up and organize at mysonoro.com. More information about this function and how you can properly set it up and use it can be found at mysonoro. com. 12.
English Access the directory containing the folder you would like to share and click with the right mouse button on the respective folder icon. When the context menu opens, select Properties. Select the Sharing tab and then select Advanced Sharing. Now select the field Share this folder and confirm this selection by clicking on the Apply field.
If no folder is found although you have set up a share, this function may not be supported by your network hardware. Another possibility is that an active firewall is blocking it. Activate the two fields Share this folder on the network and Network users can change files. Under share name, enter the name that you would like to be displayed on your elements W. Confirm the entry by clicking on OK. Now the folder icon of the folder you would like to share has changed. It shows that a share has been activated for this folder. Your elements W should now be able to find the shared directory.
English Directory input This menu item functions for the new input of the shared network directory. 12.4.2 UPNP Server Here you have the option of accessing files and playlists that are stored on and shared by an available network PC through Windows Media Player. The Windows Media Player version 11 or higher is required for a successful connection, along with the appropriate share of the files in Media Player. Start Windows Media Player and click on the menu item Library.
Now the device icon will change and you can perform global settings through Settings and device-specific settings about the files to be played back through Customize. If desired, change the settings according to your preferences and confirm the entry by clicking the OK button. This process is the same for Microsoft Windows Vista and XP. The only difference may be that the Media Player has interfaces with different appearances. NOTE To play back files shared through Media Player, proceed as follows.
• • • The line [Add to playlist] will allow you to load the entire selected list into the memory of the device at once. As soon as a title has been selected, the device begins with the playback. The following selected titles are added to the playlist. To get to the next title, press the fast forward button on the remote control.
12.4.4 Clearing the playback This option deletes all of the stored playlists from the memory of the device. 12.5 Settings In this menu you have the option of customizing the various settings of your iRadio according to your preferences. 12.5.1 Network settings • Show config. In this menu you can receive information about the currently set values.
