13 Mounting and Removing a Cutting Attachment
For example:
If four green LEDs glow continuously: full charge.
If one green LED is flashing: less than 20 % charge.
12.2 LED on the Charger
One LED shows the status of the charger and battery. The
LED can glow or flash green or red.

13.1 Mounting the Cutting Attachment
WARNING
Make sure the battery is removed before starting assembly.
WARNING
Making contact with the cutters may result in serious cut
injuries, even if the cutting blades are not moving. @ 6.5.
Always wear heavy-duty work gloves when mounting or
otherwise handling the cutting blades, @ 6.4.
The grass blades and shrub blades are mounted to the
garden shears in the same way.
To mount the cutting blade:
► Switch off the garden shears, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
► Slide a blade scabbard over the cutting blades so that it
covers the entire cutting attachment.
► Insert the clips (1) of the cutting attachment into the
guides (2) on the garden shears.
► Move the other end of the cutting attachment (3)
downward and press firmly until you hear an audible click.
► Remove the blade scabbard (4).
13.2 Removing the Cutting Attachment
To remove the cutting attachment:
► Switch off the garden shears, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
► Slide a blade scabbard over the cutting blades so that it
covers the entire cutting attachment.
If the LED glows green continuously or flashes
green: the battery is being charged.
If the LED flashes red: there is no contact
between the battery and the charger. Remove
and reinsert the battery.

The battery has a malfunction and must be
replaced. Do not use or charge the battery.
or
The charger has a malfunction. Have it checked
by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer before
use.
If the LED glows red continuosly: The battery is
too hot or too cold for charging. Allow the battery
to warm up or cool down gradually at an ambient
temperature of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to
20 °C).
