18 After Finishing Work
► Before starting work with the garden shears, remove thick
branches with a hand pruning saw, loppers, chain saw or
other appropriate tool.
Cutting in a Vertical Plane
► Move the shears from the bottom of the shrub upwards in
a controlled arc (see illustration above).
► Lower the nose of the cutting attachment, move along the
shrub and move the cutting attachment up again in a
controlled arc.
Cutting in a Horizontal Plane
► Hold the cutting attachment at an angle of 0° to 10° as you
move the cutting attachment horizontally, using both sides
of the cutting attachment (see illustration above).
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, standards and
ordinances.
17.2 Cutting Grass
WARNING
To avoid serious or fatal injury, avoid contact with the
moving cutting blades. Never hold the material to be cut or
attempt to remove cut material without first releasing the
trigger switch and removing the battery. Release the trigger
switch and remove the battery before clearing jammed
material, @ 6.6.4.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury, never work with the
garden shears in the rain or in wet or damp conditions,
@ 6.5. Always wear proper clothing and protective apparel,
including proper eye protection, @ 6.4. Keep bystanders
away from the work area, @ 6.6.4. Work carefully and
maintain proper control of the garden shears, @ 6.6.2.
The garden shears are designed for one-handed operation.
► Mount the grass blades, @ 13.1.
► Guide the garden shears parallel to the ground (see
illustration above).
► Move forward slowly.
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, standards and
ordinances.
18.1 Preparing for Transportation or Storage
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation or unauthorized use, switch off the motor, ensure
the cutting blades have stopped and remove the battery
before transporting the garden shears or putting them down.
