How to find the air flow capacity:
Air flow capacity = Nominal duty x Factor (F1) x Factor (F2) x Factor (F3)
Example:
An SRT 30 AC 115V T cUL has a nominal duty of 30 scfm (51 m³/h). What is the maximum allowable flow
through the dryer under the following operating conditions?
Inlet air pressure = 100 psig (6.9 barg)
Ambient temperature = 90°F (32°C)
Inlet air temperature = 110°F (43°C)
Factor (F1) = 1.00
Factor (F2) = 1.09
Factor (F3) = 0.81
Each item of data has a corresponding numerical factor which multiplied by the design air flow is as follows:
Air flow capacity = 30 x 1.00 x 1.09 x 0.81 = 26 scfm (44 m³/h)
26 scfm (44 m³/h) This is the maximum flow rate that the dryer can accept under these operating conditions.
How to select a suitable dryer for a given duty:

Example:
With the following operating parameters:
Design air flow = 40 scfm (68 m

Inlet air pressure = 100 psig (6.9 barg)

Factor (F1) = 1.00
Factor (F2) = 0.93
Factor (F3) = 1.00
In order to select the correct dryer model the required flow rate is to be divided by the correction factors
relating to above mentioned parameters:
Minimum std. air flow rate =
40
= 43 scfm (73 m³/h)
1.00 x 0.93 x 1.00
Therefore, the model suitable for the conditions above is SRT 60 AC 115V T cUL (60 scfm [102 m³/h] -
nominal duty).
