8.3 Wheels & tyres maintenance
To ensure that your wheelchair funcons properly, it is essenal that the res are kept at the correct pressure. The correct tyre
pressure is indicated on the side of the tyre.
Tyres that are too so will have a negave eect on the wheelchair’s performance. Moving the wheelchair will require more energy,
making more demands on the baeries. Furthermore, wear on under inated tyres is increased
When inspecng the tyres for signs of wear, look for signicant scu marks, cuts and a diminished tyre tread. Tyres will need to be
changed when the tread cannot be seen over the complete surface of the tyre.
