8.3 Wheels & tyres maintenance
To ensure that your wheelchair funcons properly, it is essenal that the res are kept at the correct pressure. The correct tyre
pressure is indicated on the side of the tyre.
Tyres that are too so will have a negave eect on the wheelchairs performance. Moving the wheelchair will require more energy,
making more demands on the baeries. Furthermore, wear on under inated tyres is increased
When inspecng the tyres for signs of wear, look for signicant scu marks, cuts and a diminished tyre tread. Tyres will need to be
changed when the tread cannot be seen over the complete surface of the tyre.
