Caution! Warning!
The lamp must never be connected directly to the mains voltage; doing so will
destroy the HQI light bulbs!
Only use each of the 4 HQI light bulbs via a suitable electronic HQI ballast.
These are not included in the delivery and must be ordered separately.
Never connect the HQI light bulbs in row or parallel!
The protective earth wire must be connected to the lamp! Do not use the lamp
without connecting the earth wire. Otherwise, there is a risk of a potentially
fatal electric shock!
• Insert the metal frame into the cut-out in the ceiling (1).
• To secure the light, four metal holders must be folded
outwards, these are then screwed tight with the screws
to be found on the inside (2).
• By turning the screws, the light is secured in the sus-
pended ceiling by the four metal holders (3).
Inserting/replacing the bulb
Attention, risk of burns!
Before you replace a faulty bulb, switch off the lamp and wait until the faulty
bulb and the lamp have cooled down suffi ciently.
• Open the glass cover of the light bulbs. Just slightly turn them counter clockwise.
Next, the glass cover with the metal ring can be removed.
• Carefully remove any faulty light bulb from the holder. Do not tilt it, since it could
break.
• Insert a new HQI light bulb (max. 70 W).
Never touch the light source with bare hands. Grease residues can cause phy-
sical changes to the light bulb glass due to the great heat, and in very rare
cases this can cause the light bulb to crack.
• Replace the glass cover again. Insert the glass cover with the metal ring (please pay
attention to the correct orientation) and slightly turn this clockwise for a bit, until the
metal ring snaps.
• Turn on the mains supply to the electronic HQI ballasts and check the functioning of
the lamps.
Please note:
A HQI light bulb needs a little time before it delivers the maximum brightness.
This can take several minutes.
Do not turn the lamp on and off rapidly. This greatly reduces the lifetime of
the HQI light bulb. HQI light bulbs are not intended for short term operation.
Align the refl ector
Using the pivoting system, each refl ector can be aligned to illuminate the surface de-
sired.
Caution!
Maintain the minimum distance as specifi ed on the lamp between the light
outlet and illuminated surfaces, risk of fi re!
Depending on the illuminated surface/material, greater distances must be
kept, otherwise, discolouration or material deterioration may result!
Attention, risk of burns!
Do not adjust the refl ector when the lamp is on. Turn off the lamp (turn off
the mains voltage for the appropriate electronic HQI ballast) and let the lamp
cool down completely.
Maintenance and Care
• The product does not need any maintenance except the replacement of the light
bulb.
• Turn off the lamp before cleaning (turn off the mains voltage for the appropriate
electronic HQI ballast). Then allow the lamp to cool down.
• The exterior of the light should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use
aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
