Th e SERVICE screen s in troduce th e con cept of th e softpot, an an alog
SOFTware-con trolled POTen tiom eter used for adjustin g all tran sceiver
align m en t con trols.
Each SERVICE screen provides th e capability to in crease or decrease th e
softpot value with th e keyboard UP/DOWN arrow keys respectively. A
graph ical scale is displayed in dicatin g th e m in im um , m axim um , an d
proposed value of th e softpot, as sh own in Figure 3.

Do NOT switch radios in the middle of any SERVICE
procedure. Always use the EXIT key to return to the
M AIN menu screen before disconnecting the radio.
Improper exits from the SERVICE screens m ay leave
the radio in an im properly congured state and
result in seriously degraded radio or system
performance.
