PUMPCONTROLMODES
TheT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OSprovidesthefourtypesofthepumpcontrol
modes.Thepumpcontrolmodesareselectedbychanging
dipswitchsettings.Thedipswitchesthatchangethepumpcontrol
modesarelocatedintherightbankofdipswitchesintheupper‐
leftquadrantofthecomputerboardin
theT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS.(See
right.)These4modesonlyaffectpumpsthatareconnectedto
theT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OSpumpcontrol(p.25)
A)RecirculationControl:No.5ON
Feature:Maintainingtemperatureinastandardrecirculationloop,providinghotwaterinaquicker
amountoftime.
Function:Thepumpisonlysettorunwhenthetemperatureofthewaterintherecirculationloopis
morethan9°FbelowthesettemperatureoftheT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS.
Thepumpwillrunforabout1minuteevery30minutestodeterminewhetherthewater
temperatureintheentirerecirculationloopismorethan9°Fbelowthesettemperature.
Ifthewatertemperatureismorethan9°Fbelowthesettemperature,thepumpwillremainrunning
untilthewater
intheloopreachesthesettemperature.Otherwise,thepumpwillstopforanother
30minutes.
Iftheinletthermistorofwaterheatersdetectsthat thewatertemperatureismorethan9°Fbelow
thesettemperaturebeforethose30minuteshaveelapsed,thepumpwillactivateimmediatelyand
remainrunninguntil
thewaterintheloopreachesthesettemperature.
B)StorageTankCirculationControl:No.6ON
Feature:Thisistoensureahigherrateofrecoveryforstoragetankapplications.
Function: The T‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS heats the water 5.4°F higher than its set temperature. The
circulation pump between the storage tank and the water heater will continually remain running.
After set temperature has been
reached in the storage tank, the T‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS will fire off and
limit thewater flowrate to lessthan 2.6GPM, to continually monitor the temperaturethroughout
thesystem.
Note:Inthismode,thepumpwillcontinuallyremain running.
C)EnergyConservingRecirculation:No.5andNo.6ON
Feature:OperatessimilarlytothestandardRecirculationControlmode,butsavesmoreenergyby
limitingthetemperaturewithintherecirculationloop.
Function:Thetemperatureoftherecirculationloopisneverkeptabove120°F(49°C),regardlessof
thesettemperatureoftheT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS.
