• Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer (for

• Thewarrantywillnotcoverdamagecausedbywaterquality.
• Onlypotablewaterorpotablewater/glycolmixturescanbeusedwiththis
water heater.Do not introduce pool or spa water, or any chemically
treatedwaterintothewaterheater.
• Water hardness levels must not exceed 7 grains per gallon (120 ppm) for
single family domestic applications or more than 4 grains per gallon (70
ppm) for all other types of applications.Water hardness leads to scale
formation and may affect/damage the water heater.Hard water scaling
mustbeavoidedor
controlledbyproperwatertreatment.

• Although the T‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS is designed to operate with mi nimal sound,
TAKAGI does not recommend installing the unit on a wall adjacent to a
bedroom,oraroomthatisintendedforquietstudyormeditation,etc.
• Locateyourheaterclosetoadrainwherewaterleakagewillnotdodamageto
surrounding areas.As with any water heating appliance, the potential for
leakageatsometimeinthe lifeofthe productdoesexist.Takagiwillnot be
responsible for any water damage that may occur.If
you install a drain pan
undertheunit,ensurethatitwillnotrestrictthecombustionairflow.
• T‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS are hig h efficiency products that create condensation. A
condensation drain tube must be installed with the T‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OS to
dischargecondensateintoadrainoutlet.Formoreinformation,refertop.20.
• TAKAGIdoesnotrecommendi nstallingunitinanatticduetosafetyissues.If
youinstallyourT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OSinanattic:
• Make sure your unit will have enough combustion air and proper
ventilation.
• KeeptheareaaroundyourT‐H2‐DV/T‐H2‐OSclean . When dustcollectson
theflamesensor,thewaterheaterwillshutdownonerrors.
• Locateunitforeasyaccessforserviceandmaintenance.
• A drain pan, or other means of protection against water damage, is
requiredtobeinstalledunderthewaterheaterincas eofleaks.
