6.5.2.1 Automatic programme tabs

This function allows the user to add tags during USB recording (DVR recording), in case of programme

change at the recording. The tags get the name of the programme title, which facilitates the search

for the beginning of the programme during playback or processing of the DVR recording. Necessary

data (programme change and title) are gathered from the data stream. Inappropriate name or place-

ment of the tag can result from incorrect name of the programme in the data stream or from too ear-

ly/late signalling of the programme change.

6.5.3 Media Player

The submenu allows the user to choose the startup folder for playback of music, images or ﬁ lms. The

playback of the given media begins in a selected folder upon calling up the command: Media Play Mu-

sic, Media Play Images or Media Play Films.

6.5.3.1 Character encoding

In order to play media (music/images) within the existing network it may be necessary to adjust the

character encoding to the network. That should be done in this line.

6.5.3.2 Startup folder Music/Images/Films

Device View. In this setting, the music navigator starts with choosing the drive when external devi-

ces are connected.

Last Played. In this setting, the music navigator starts with choosing the folder with the last played

MP3 ﬁ le.

6.5.4 HDMI TechniLink

The HDMI-TechniLink function is based on the HDMI-CEC standard. The HDMI-TechniLink ensures

data exchange between devices that are compatible with the HDMI-CEC, which enables automatic

activation or deactivation, or control of volume in the devices connected via HDMI.

7. Operation

7.1 Turning the device on

> Turn the digital receiver on by pressing the ON/Standby button on the device or on the remote control.

7.2 User selection

In case the user-dependent Child Lock function is active (temporary account for children), the choice

of user proﬁ le is displayed upon startup of the device.

> Select user proﬁ le using the up/down arrows.

On the right side, next to the user proﬁ le selection, current status (e.g. time remaining in a given day)

is displayed.

> Conﬁ rm by pressing OK. If PIN demand is not active for that proﬁ le, TV image will be displayed. If it is

active, the PIN demand will be displayed.

> Enter the user PIN number using the numeric keypad. When the number is correct, the TV image will

be displayed.

> If the user proﬁ le is to be changed during use, turn oﬀ the device by pressing the On/Standby button

and turn it on by pressing that button again to call up the user proﬁ le selection.
