8.1.2 Checking the DVR usability
You can check the DVR usability for the selected carrier. This test shows you whether the selected car-
rier is appropriate for the DVR feature.

In this section, you are able to nd out whether the le system is damaged.
8.1.4 Carrier format
In this section, you are able to format the data carrier.
8.1.5 Carrier selection
In Data carrier management you are able to determine which carrier (formatted appropriately
for the DVR le system) should be used as the data carrier. You can choose between manual and au-
tomatic selection of the carrier.
In automatic mode, the carrier which is connected as the primary one will be used as the data stora-
ge carrier.
8.2 Recording
8.2.1 Recording in immediate mode
This type of recording should be selected in order to immediately record a programme which is curren-
tly being broadcast by using only one button.
8.2.1.1 Manual recording start
Option 1
> Turn on the channel with the programme you want to record.
> Press the Record button in order to record the current program. During the recording process
the programme is still played on your screen.
> In order to pause the current programme at a speci ed point, press the
Pause/Play button.
While the recording takes place in background, you are able to see the paused image on your screen.
> In order to resume programme playback, press the Pause/Play button again.
The programme will be displayed in timeshift in relation to the live broadcasting,
while the current programme is still recorded in background.
Option 2
> If the user must stop watching the program, e.g. because of a telephone
conversation, he can press the Pause/Play button in order to
pause programme playback and start recording the currently broadcasted program.
While the recording takes place in background, you are able to see the paused image on your screen.
> In order to resume programme playback, press the Pause/Play button again.
The programme will be displayed in timeshift in relation to the live broadcasting,
while the current programme is still recorded in background.
