Ventilation Planning Guide
It is recommended that a THERMADOR PROFESSIONAL hood is used with a THERMADOR PROFESSIONAL range
or rangetop. The following range and rangetop ventilation combinations are approved installations.
All blower models referenced may not be compatible with all hoods referenced. Refer to www.thermador.com for a
complete selection of ventilation options, blowers, and accessories.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
See related Thermador Manuals for additional information.
Thermador recommends not exceeding 50 ft. (15.24 m) equivalent length of duct.
Keep duct runs as short and straight as possible. Elbows and transitions fittings reduce air flow efficiency. Back to back
elbows and “S” turns give very poor delivery and are not recommended. A short straight length of duct at the inlet of a
remote blower gives the best delivery.
For Thermador Pro Ranges applications with a non-approved Thermador hood. The hood and/or blower must be rated
for 1 CFM for every 100 BTU on the Range/Rangetop.
If the range has a 12'' Griddle, add an additional 200 CFM to the estimated blower capacity.
If the range has a 24'' Griddle, add an additional 400 CFM to the estimated blower capacity.
If the range has a Grill, add an additional 400 CFM to the estimated blower capacity.
If the range has a Grill and a Griddle, add an additional 600 CFM to the estimated blower capacity.
For island applications, it is recommended to use a hood width that exceeds the width of the range by 6'' (152 mm),
overlapping the range or rangetop by a minimum of 3'' (76 mm) on each end.
A 25 foot extension cable (EXTNCB25) is available for purchase to connect the hood to in-line or remote blowers, if
required.
