Caring for Your Concrete & Masonry Surfaces
After applying a waterproofer, it’s important to properly maintain your
concrete, brick and masonry surfaces. Regular care will extend the life
of these surfaces, so your family can enjoy it for years to come.
Follow these simple tasks to keep your surfaces looking great:
Perform the ‘splash test’ once per year (sprinkle water on various sections; if
water absorbs and darkens the color of the surface within 5 seconds, surface
is porous and needs to be treated)
Sweep leaves and grass clippings off surfaces to avoid hard-to-remove stains
Clean up spills immediately, especially those of an oily substance
Fix cracks as soon as they appear to minimize further damage
Keep weeds and tree roots from encroaching on these surfaces to avoid heaving
