Installation & Assembly

INSTALLATION GUIDE
Please take note of the following pointers to assure a beautiful installation. ! For complete
and detailed glass setting instructions, please consult the 2010 Tile Council of North America
Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation. !
USE
For use in any interior vertical area, dry or wet, including backsplashes, showers and bath
surrounds. ! It may be used on the floor in light residential or very light commercial
environments, but the materials will be subject to wear and tear. We do not recommend this
product for pool use or contact with other harsh chemicals. !
INSPECTION
The end user is responsible for determining the acceptability of the product. !
Installation constitutes acceptance of the product. Please inspect the material
carefully and contact your distributor with any concerns prior to installing.
INSTALLATION
It is always good practice to do a "dry" layout of all the sheets to be used before installation
to make sure the desired pattern is obtained. Use only modified white thinset suitable for
glass, not mastic or any other color. !
May be set and grouted according to normal industry practices for glass and stone mosaics. !
If the mosaic is being used in a wet area, we recommend sealing. ! This will seal the grout
joint at the same time. ! You may also use an enhancing sealer, however this will only
enhance the travertine colors and not white marble. !Always test one stone chip separately
to verify that the enhanced effect is desired. !Enhancing cannot be undone. !
The entire installation should be cleaned well before grouting, sealed once, and then sealed
a second time after all grout has been removed. !
If applicable, the metal pieces cannot be cut on a wet saw. !If you need to make a cut, it is
better to remove the piece and replace with a glass or chip that is more easily cut. Or, you
can cut the metal with a suitable hacksaw or Dremel blade. ! There is a ceramic chip
underneath the metal, so you'll need to cut the metal first and then then snap the ceramic. !
It's easier to avoid the cut and insert a glass piece.
Use only unsanded grout, never sanded grout. ! Sanded grout will scratch the metal and
glass, and is not recommended. ! Do not apply pressure or scraping to the copper pieces,
that will remove their patina. !
CLEAN UP
Allow grout to set-up (firm) and smooth finish with a damp sponge. After approximately 30-60
minutes remove grout haze with a slightly damp sponge and scrub in a circular motion,
removing excess grout and!smoothing all joints. For final removal of grout haze, polish with
a clean, soft, white cloth.
MAINTENANCE
Keep clean with any gentle household glass cleaner or detergent. !Metal chips may continue
to oxidize over time and will acquire their own patina. !Avoid cleaners containing ammonia,
bleach, abrasives, or other hazardous/polluting compounds. Always test in small
inconspicuous area while using a new cleaner to ensure compatibility.
