RAISING THE JACK
1. Block the boats wheels for lifting stability. Secure the load to prevent inadvertent shifting
and movement
2. Position the jack near desired lift point.
3. Refer to the boat manufacturer owner’s manual to locate approved lifting points on the
engine. Position the jack so that the saddle is centered and will contact the load lifting
point firmly.
4. Assemble the handle, ensure to align with slots.
5. Close the release valve by turning it clockwise until it is firmly closed.
6. Before raising the load double check and verify the saddles are centered and also has
full contact with the lifting point.
7. Check that the saddles contact the support points of the outboard marine engine. Adjust
the upper frame to make it parallel with the supporting point of the outboard marine
engine. Do so by adjusting the 3 adjustment screws for the saddle.
WARNING (STEPS 9 to 14)
8. Check that marine engine and saddles have been properly restrained before removing
attachment hardware on marine engine to boat and before lifting.
9. Pump handle to lift until saddle contacts load. Continue to pump the jack handle to lift the
to the desired height. After lifting, support the load with an appropriately rated support
stand before working on the marine engine.
10. Carefully and slowly remove marine engine from boat using caution to verify engine is
kept parallel with the ground at all times. Use only on hard, level surfaces.
11. Use extreme caution when transporting marine engine. Marine engines are top heavy
and can tip very easily.
12. Support by appropriate means after removal of marine engine is complete.
13. Verify with the marine engine manufacturer for proper anchor points, proper lifting points,
and how engine should be transported. Manufacturer is not responsible for any personal
injury and/or property damage when installing, removing, or transporting boat marine
engine.
