SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS 6. Charge battery (model 27501 to Charging Battery, page 12, Slide battery, decal side up, between mounting tabs on back of control panel and connect wires (Fig. 4}. Insert key into switch when ready to start engine. 7. Unscrew gas tank cap (Fig. 7). If there is a plastic plug over the tank opening, remove and discard it. Reinstall gas tank cap. BEFORE OPERATING FILL FUEL TANK WITH GASOLINE Note: The Toto Company strongly recommends the use of fresh, clean, UNLEADED regular grade gassing in Toto gasoline powered products. Unleaded gasoline burns cleaner, extends engine fife, and promotes good starting by reducing the build—up of combustion chamber deposits. Leaded gasoline can be used if unleaded is not available.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 4a. KEY-ELECTRIC STARTING {model 27501} — Move throttle {Fig. 6) to CHOKE [T key (Fig. 6} to START & and release when engine begins running. When engine starts, remove throttle from CHOKE i and regulate as desired. Note: If the battery’s charge is too weak to start the engine, the engine can be started with the recoil starter (Fig. 7). 4b. MANUAL STARTING—Move throttle to CHOKE M. Brace yourself and mower securely by placing your foot on the top left side of mower housing.

A "bang” should be heard, and the blade should stop within 3 seconds, [f the blade does not stop within 3 seconds when the control bar is released, stop using it until it has been serviced by an Authorized TOR Service Dealer. If your unit stops within the required 3 seconds, the BBC system is operating properly. If it does not, proceed 0 step § to detect BBC system deterioration before it affects normal operation. MAINTENANCE ADJUSTING BLADE BRAKE Blade brake adjustment may be necessary if the quality of cut deteriorates, the bagging ability degrades, or the engine rpm is audibly faster than the blade rpm when cutting grass. 1.
