CD Writing Precautions
Please adhere to the following information on the use of the CD-RW to
minimise the risk of an unsuccessful storing process. As the storing may
be unsuccessful despite your adhering to these information, for example
because of a defective storing medium, you should even if the software
indicates a successful storage, always check if the data has been stored
successfully.
■ If “Easy CD Creator” is bundled with this product, please do not use
other software for writing to your CD-RW/CD-R. When using it, make
sure that its verify function is “ON” (Click “File”, point to “CD L
ayout
Properties” and activate the “Automatically v
erify File System”

DO NOT move or otherwise stress your computer.
■ Switch off CPU-intensive software, such as any screen saver.
■ When writing to a CD-RW or CD-R, use media that is compatible with
at least quadruple speed writing.
■ Please make sure that any power-saving function is switched off.
■ We recommend that you do NOT use any utility which speeds up a
disk-access, as it may cause instability of operation or data
corruption.
■ Switch off virus software and make sure it does not undertake
automatic background monitoring.
■
We recommend that you only use high-quality brand CD-RW/CD-R
discs.
■ Please use your PC as stand alone equipment, NOT connected to any
devices or a network, including but not limited to a LAN.
■ Please be aware that choosing a high CD writing speed decreases the
writing quality and safety. To reduce the risk of writing failures and loss
of data, choose a lower writing speed.
Toshiba Optional Devices and Accessories

Always use authorised Toshiba optional devices and
accessories. This will prevent incompatibility and will avoid any risk of fire
or other inadvertent damage to your unit. All authorised Toshiba optional
devices and accessories are fully compatible with this computer.
Using unauthorised and incompatible optional devices and accessories, in
violation of this warning, could result in bodily injury or property damage.
