Recorded video clips can be played back on the built-in 2.4 inch bright color swivel screen or directly onto a HD television using the provided HDMI cable for ultra fast transfer of HD images and audio data. The camera uses a 5 mega-pixel image sensor, which can enhance still images up to 11 mega-pixels (interpolated).

GETTING STARTED 4 Inserting the Battery Before using the camera, please insert the provided NP 60 battery into the battery compartment following steps 1-3 below. 1. Slide the battery compartment door in the direction of the arrow to open. 2. Insert the battery according to the correct (+/-) polarity. Eject 3. Close the battery cover firmly. Inserting and Removing an SD Card (Optional) The camera comes with limited internal memory which allows you to store pictures, movies, voice recordings and music.
4 GETTING STARTED Protecting Data on an SD Card An SD card is “read only” when it is placed in the locked position. In the locked position, no pictures, movies or voice can be recorded onto the SD card. In order to take pictures, or record voice and movies, make sure the SD card is in the “writeable” position as shown in the figure to the right.

5 RECORD MODE Default Setting and Validation The following table indicates the camera’s default settings as well as the length of time changed settings remain valid. 1. Infinite: A changed setting always remains valid. 2. One Time: A changed setting is only valid as long as the camera is switched on.

You can use the Right/Left Buttons to move between options and press the OK Button to validate the setting. ■ Movie Resolution To change the Movie Resolution: 1. In the Movie/Picture Record Mode, press the OK Button to switch to the record menu screen. 2. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select Movie Mode. In certain circumstances you may wish to change/adjust the exposure compensation setting. To change the exposure setting: 1. In the Movie/Picture Record Mode, press OK Button to switch to the record menu screen. 2. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select Movie Mode. A submenu of the Movie menu will appear on the screen. 3. When taking a picture with the self timer enabled the LED on the front of the camera will start blinking. The speed of blinking will increase just before the picture is taken. In the Movie/Picture Record Mode, press the OK Button to switch to the record menu screen. 2. Use the Right/Left Buttons to move to Setting option, and then a setting Submenu will appear on the screen. 3. Use the Up/Down Buttons (Tele-Wide Buttons) ( ) to move between the settings.

6 PLAYBACK MODE Movie Playback Operation 1. Use Direction Buttons to select the Movie option. 2. Press OK Button to go to the Movie Playback Mode. 3. Use the Right/Left Buttons to go forward or backwards in this mode. 4. Press the Movie Shutter Button to select play and press it again to pause the movie. 5. While playing a movie, press the Right/Left Buttons to fast forward/rewind, then release the button to stop. 6. Use the Up/Down Buttons to adjust the volume. 7.
6 PLAYBACK MODE ■ Delete Movies Operation Display Screen 1. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select the Delete option ( ). 2. Press the OK Button to enter the Delete menu. 3. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select the movie you want to delete. 4. Use the Up Button to delete all movies and the Down Button to delete a single movie. 5. Before a movie is deleted, a confirmation screen will appear; choosing “Yes” will execute the operation and “No” will cancel the operation. 6. Press the OK Button to exit.
6 PLAYBACK MODE ■ Thumbnail Function Operation Display Screen 1. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select the Thumbnail option ( ). 2. Press the OK Button to view nine thumbnail previews of your recorded movies. 3. To play a movie, use the Right/Left Buttons to select the movie and then press the OK Button to view. ■ Lock Movies You can lock all movies, or a single movie using this function. LISTENING TO MP3 MUSIC 7 MP3 Music MP3 is a compressed audio file format. Transfer MP3 Music to the camera 1. Connect your camera to the computer USB port. 2. The Red LED will light up when the camera is connected to the computer and in Mass Storage Mode. 3. Copy MP3 music to My Computer\Removable Disk\MP3. 4. When the MP3 files are transferred, disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
7 LISTENING TO MP3 MUSIC Listen to MP3 Music Operation Display Screen 1. In Playback Mode, use the Right/Left Buttons to select the Music option. 2. Use the Up/Down Buttons to locate MP3 songs you want to play, or press the Right/ Left Buttons to jump to the next/previous page. 3. Press the Movie Shutter or OK Button to play an MP3. 4. Press the Movie Shutter Button again to stop playing the MP3. 5. Press the Up/Down Buttons to adjust the volume. 6. Press the OK Button to go to the repeat menu. 7.
VIEWING MOVIE ON PC (COMPUTER) 8 View Movie on PC If you want to playback the movies on your Computer, please install the Video Codec from the provided disc. 1. Insert the CD-ROM into the computer’s CD-ROM drive. Click “Install Device Driver” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 2. Start video player such as Widows Media Player to view AVI Movies.
VIEWING PICTURES AND MOVIES ON A TV 9 Connecting to a High-Definition(HD) TV 1. Connect provided HDMI cable to your camera and a HD TV. 2. Set video input source of the TV to “ HDMI” option. 3. When the camera is connected to a television the functions are exactly the same as when you preview pictures and movies on the LCD Screen of the camera. Note The LCD Panel does not work when the camera is connected to a television.
VIEWING PICTURES AND MOVIES ON A TV 9 Connecting to a regular TV set 1. Connect one end of the AV cable to your camera’s AV Out port. 2. Connect the other end of the cable to the television. 3. The option menu of Earphone/TV appearson the LCD Screen. 4. Choose the TV option and press the OK Button to validate the setting. 5. When the camera is connected to a television the functions are exactly the same as when you preview pictures and movies on the LCD screen of the camera.
VIDEO FILE CONVERTER 10 The provided bundled software CD contains ArcSoft Media Converter which features a video file converter to convert multiple video formats into a compatible format with your camera. In this way, you can convert various video files formats and playback your favourite movies on your camera. Media Converter 2.5 To convert a video file: 1.
