Removing Old Trimming Line and Obstructions (Bump Head)
1. When the trimming line runs out, the last piece should
automatically eject from the cutting head. If it does not, pull the
remaining line out of the cutting head.
2. If the line will not come out or the cutting head is otherwise
obstructed:
a. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the notch on the tab (Fig. 23).
b.Gently tilt the screwdriver up and ho
ld it in place (Fig. 23).
c
. While holding the screwdriver in place, gently twist the
screwdriver to unlock the tab from the tab slot (Fig. 24).
d.Remove the spool cover (Fig. 24). DO NOT remove the spring
from the cutting head base (Fig. 24).
e. Push the bump knob through the spool cover. (Fig. 24). If the
eyelets come off, reinsert the eyelets on the spool cover (Fig. 21).
NOTE: DO NOT separate the bump kno
b from the inner reel (Fig. 24).

. Remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions.
g. Use a clean cloth to clean the inner reel, cutting head base
and spool cover (Fig. 24).
h. Insert the bump knob and inner reel into the spool cover (Fig. 24).
i. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the tab slots on the
cutting head base (Fig. 24). Push the spool cover onto the
cutting head base until the tabs secure
ly snap into place.
