Preparing the unit for installation

Carefully unpack and lay all parts on a clean, level surface.

Before starting the installation of this ﬁxture or removal

of a previous ﬁxture, disconnect the power by turning off

the circuit breaker or by removing the fuse at the fuse box.

Installing the cross bar and canopy

Securing the canopy and installing the

light bulbs

Secure the canopy (H) to the outlet box with the hex nut (CC) and

the threaded ﬁnial (J).

Place one lamp shade (K and L) on the lamp holder assembly (E)

Each of the eight lamp shades (K and L) must be installed one at

a time.

Install one 60 Watt, type A light bulb into each of the eight

sockets. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED WATTAGE. A CFL

equivalent energy-saving bulb may also be used. Bulbs are sold

separately.

Secure the cross bar (F) onto the outlet box with the two

mounting screws (BB).

Attach the chain (B) to the ﬁrst link on the square middle support

plate (D) with the quicklink (C).

Starting at the lamp assembly (E), pull the

canopy (H).

Making the electrical connections

Make the connections to a 120V AC 60Hz circuit.

Attach the green or bare wire from the electrical supply to

the green or bare wire from the ﬁxture.

If a ground wire does not exist in the outlet box connect

the ﬁxture ground wire directly to the ground screw (G)

located on the cross bar (F).

Secure the wire connections using wire connectors (DD).

Wrap the wire connections with electrical tape for a more

secure connection.

Tuck all wires back into the outlet box. No loose strands or

connections should be present.
