Tips & Tricks for Chalkboards and Markerboards
MARKERBOARDS
How do I clean and care for my dry erase board?
Cleaning and caring for your markerboard is simple and easy! The board should only be
cleaned with dry erase wipes, or isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.
Do markers other than dry erase work on markerboards?
Dry erase markers are designed to work on markerboards. However, other marker types
can be used. Dry erase crayons and others work as well. Please make sure and check the
specs on markers you are thinking of purchasing before writing on the surface.
I used a non-dry erase marker on my dry erase. Now what? How do I clean it?
Rubbing alcohol and a rag/paper towel to the rescue! Apply a few dabs of rubbing alcohol
to your rag/paper towel and rub the markerboard clean,
I left marker on for a long time. What should I do?
Same as above! Rubbing alcohol and a rag/paper towel to the rescue! Apply a few dabs of
rubbing alcohol to your rag/paper towel and rub the markerboard clean.
Is it magnetic?
No, unfortunately our markerboards are not magnetic. If you want to hang items we
suggest using an adhesive object.
CHALKBOARDS
Can chalk markers be used on this?
Yes! Our chalkboards will work great with chalk markers. Cleanup is a bit different though.
Use a damp cloth to wipe the chalk marker off the surface.
How do I cut this chalkboard?
Our chalkboards are made from MDF plywood. For the cleanest cut, we suggest using an 80-
tooth or higher sawblade. The more teeth, the finer the cut and the less the risk for
blowouts.
