If the gas inlet working pressure is within the
permissible range, proceed as follows:
Take the boiler out of operation by
- Pressing the + and i buttons simultaneously and
turn down both thermostat control knobs.
- Allow the boiler to cool down by turning off water
taps and allow pump overrun to operate for a
minimum of two minutes.
Close the gas isolation valve of the boiler.
Remove the pressure gauge and re-tighten the sealing
screw (1).
Open the gas isolation valve of the boiler.
Make sure that there is no leakage at the sealing
screw.
Put the front casing back on.
Reset boiler controls for normal operation.
Record the appliance gas inlet working pressure
(mbar) in the Benchmark gas boiler commissioning
checklist.
6.3 Checking the equipment function
After installing and checking the gas supply pressure,
perform a function check before commissioning the
appliance and handing over to the user.
Commission the appliance in accordance with the
instructions in the relevant operating manual.
• Check the gas infeed, exhaust gas installation, boiler and
heating installation and the hot water pipes for leaks.
Check the flue pipe for proper installation.
Check over-ignition and that the flame on the burner
is burning evenly.
Check the function of the heating (see Section 6.3.1)
and the hot water preparation (see Section 6.3.2)
Hand the unit over to the user.
The Vaillant ecoTEC exclusive has status codes which
indicate the operating condition of the appliance in the
display. Functional checks of the hot water and heating
operation can be undertaken using these status codes
by pushing the button "i".

6.3.1 Heating
Switch on the appliance.
Make sure that there is a heat demand for heating
(set the room thermostat or the weather-controlled
controller to "demand").
• Press "i" to activate the status indicator.

As soon as there is a heat demand, the appliance goes
through the status displays "S. 1" to "S. 3", until the
appliance is running properly in normal operation and
the display "S. 4" appears.
