Thank you for buying the DVM860BL! Use this device to measure and test: AC & DC voltage & current (also with

optional clamp AC97), resistance, temperature, batteries, diodes, continuity and transistors.

2. Safety

The DVM860BL is developed in accordance with IEC1010-1 concerning safety requirements for electrical measuring

instruments with an overvoltage category (CAT III) 600V and pollution 2. Respect these safety prescriptions:

• Protect yourself against electroshocks.

• Do not use this device for any other application than those described in this manual.

• Make sure the device was not damaged in transit.

• Make sure the insulation of the test leads is not damaged and/or the wire itself is not exposed.

• Full compliance with safety standards can only be guaranteed if the device is used with the supplied test leads. If

necessary, they should be replaced with identical leads or leads with identical electric ratings. All test leads should

be in good working order.

• Select the right input jack, function and range before use.

• Never exceed the specified limit values for the various measurement ranges.

• Do not touch unused terminals when the meter is connected to a circuit.

• Place the range selector in the highest position if the value to be measured is unknown beforehand.

• Do not measure voltages > 600V above earth ground.

• Exercise extreme caution when working with voltages in excess of 60Vdc or 30Vrms AC. Keep your fingers behind

the probe barriers while using the device.

• Do not connect the leads to a voltage source while the function switch is in one of the following modes: current,

resistance, temperature, battery, diode, transistor or continuity.

• Disconnect all test leads from the circuit to be tested prior to selecting a different function or range.

• Do not use the meter in dusty environments or in the presence of flammable gases and steam.

• Have the device checked by a qualified technician in case of malfunction.

• Never use the meter if the back panel is not in place and firmly fixed.

• Do not use or store the device in areas exposed to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity.

.3. Func. Button Press this button during current and voltage measurements to alternate between DC and AC. Press the button during temperature measurements to alternate between °C and °F. Press the RANGE button to select the manual range setting. The next level up is selected each time you press the button.

6.11. Measuring AC Current WARNING Deactivate the circuit to be tested before connecting it to the meter. 1. Connect the black test lead with the COM jack and the red test lead with the INPUT jack for current measurements up to 200mA. Move the red lead to the 10A jack for measurements up to 10A. 2. Select the desired µ A, mA or A range with the range selector. 3. Press the FUNC. button to select AC measurement. Select manual or auto range selection with the RANGE button. 4.

REMARKS • Use an AC clamp (e.g. AC97) to measure AC currents • The LCD displays the overrange indication "OL" if the measured value is too high for the range you are using. 6.17. Diode Test 1. Connect the black test lead with the COM jack and the red test lead with the INPUT jack (the polarity of the red test lead is "+"). 2. Place the range switch in the range position. 3. Press the FUNC. button to select the function "diode test" . 4. Connect the red lead with the anode and the black lead with the cathode of the diode to be tested. 5. Read the value from the LCD. REMARKS • The LCD will display the possible forward voltage drop of the diode.

b) Fuse Disconnect all test leads before replacing the fuse in order to avoid electroshocks. In order to avoid unnecessary fire risks, you should only use fuses with the following ratings: F 200mA/250mV (quick-acting). 1. Fuses only rarely need to be replaced and a blown fuse is usually the result of human error. 2. Unscrew the battery cover, remove the old fuse and insert a new one with identical specifications. 3. Replace the cover.

6.5. Achtergrondverlichting Druk op de knop wanneer het te donker wordt om de LCD te lezen. De achtergrondverlichting dooft automatisch uit na 15 seconden. Houd de knop gedurende 2 seconden ingedrukt om de achtergrondverlichting te doven. Onthoud dat geregeld gebruik van de achtergrondverlichting de levensduur van uw batterijen aantast. Het symbool verschijnt wanneer de batterijspanning onder 4V zakt.

6.9. AC spanning meten OPGELET De ingangsspanning mag de 600Vrms AC niet overstijgen. Wees heel voorzichtig om elektroshocks te vermijden wanneer u werkt met hoge spanningen. 1. Verbind het zwarte meetsnoer met de COM jack en het rode meetsnoer met de INPUT jack. 2. Selecteer het gewenste V-bereik met de bereikschakelaar. 3. Druk op de FUNC. knop om AC meting te selecteren. OPMERKINGEN • De LCD geeft de buiten-bereik aanduiding "OL" weer indien de gemeten waarde te hoog is voor het gekozen bereik. Selecteer een hoger bereik. • Plaats de bereikschakelaar in de hoogste stand indien u de waarde die u wilt meten niet op voorhand kent. • Respecteer de grenswaarden : de max. stroom voor de INPUT jack bedraagt 200mA. De zekering zal springen indien de grenswaarden worden overschreden. De max. stroom voor de 10A aansluiting is 10A en dit bereik wordt niet beschermd door een zekering.

6.14. Weerstandsmetingen OPGELET Zorg ervoor dat bij weerstandsmetingen geen spanning meer op de schakeling staat en dat alle condensatoren volledig ontladen zijn. 1. Verbind het zwarte meetsnoer met de COM jack en het rode meetsnoer met de INPUT jack. 2. Plaats de bereikschakelaar in de gewenste Ω stand. Kies automatische of manuele bereikinstelling met de RANGE knop. 3. Verbind de meetsnoeren met de weerstand die u wilt meten. 4. Lees de waarde af van de LCD.

OPMERKINGEN • De LCD geeft de mogelijke voorwaartse spanningsval weer van de diode. • De buiten-bereik aanduiding "OL" verschijnt op de LCD indien de meetsnoeren niet goed zijn aangesloten. • De buiten-bereik aanduiding "OL" verschijnt wanneer de ingang niet is aangesloten vb. bij een open schakeling. 6.18. 6. Instructions d'opération 6.1. Bouton Data-Hold Pressez le bouton DATA-H pour fixer la valeur mesurée sur l'écran. Pressez le bouton de nouveau pour désactiver la fonction. 6.2. Bouton Max. Hold Pressez le bouton MAX.H pendant vos mesures pour afficher la plus haute valeur mesurée. Pressez une deuxième fois pour effacer cette valeur de l'écran. 6.3. Bouton Func. Pressez ce bouton pendant vos mesures de tension et de courant pour alterner entre CC et CA.

6.8. Mesurer des tensions CC ATTENTION Limitez la tension d’entrée max. à 600V CC !! Prenez toutes les précautions nécessaires afin d’éviter les électrochocs quand vous travaillez avec des tensions élevées. 1. Connectez le cordon de mesure noir au jack COM et le cordon de mesure rouge au jack INPUT. 2. Sélectionnez la plage V désirée avec le sélecteur de plage. 3. Pressez le bouton FUNC. pour sélectionner les mesures CC.

REMARQUES • L’indication hors-plage "OL" apparaît sur l’écran si la valeur mesurée dépasse la valeur max. de la plage instaurée. Sélectionnez une plage plus haute. • Placez le sélecteur de plage dans la position max. si la valeur à mesurer n’est pas connue d’avance. • Respectez les valeurs limites : le courant max. pour la borne d’entrée INPUT est 200mA. Le fusible sautera si la valeur limite est dépassée. Le courant max. pour la borne d’entrée 10A est 10A et cette plage n'est pas protégée par un fusible.

6.13. Mesurer des courants CA (avec transducteur optionnel AC97) 1. Connectez le cordon de mesure noir du transducteur avec le jack COM et le cordon de mesure rouge avec le jack INPUT (entrée). 2. 6. Instrucciones de operación 6.1. Botón Data Hold Pulse este botón para ‘congelar’ el último valor medido. Vuelva a pulsar el botón para desactivar la función Data Hold. 6.2. Botón Max. Hold Pulse el botón MAX.H durante sus mediciones para visualizar el máx. valor medido. Pulse una segunda vez para borrar este valor. 6.3. Botón Func. Pulse este botón durante las mediciones de tensión y de corriente para alternar entre CC y CA. Pulse este botón durante mediciones de temperatura para alternar entre °C y °F.

6.8. Medir tensiones CC CUIDADO ¡Para evitar el riesgo de sufrir un choque eléctrico, no realice nunca mediciones en circuitos con más de 600V CC! 1. Conecte la punta de prueba negra a la conexión COM y la punta de prueba roja a la conexión INPUT. 2. Seleccione el rango V deseado con el selector de rango. 3. OBSERVACIONES • Aparece la indicación "OL" en la pantalla si el valor medido sobrepasa el valor máx. del rango seleccionado. Seleccione un rango más elevado. • Coloque el selector de rango en la posición máx. si no conoce el valor de antemano. • Respete los valores máximos : la corriente máx. para el borne de entrada INPUT es 200mA. 6.13. Medir corrientes CA (con la pinza amperimétrica AC97) 1. Conecte la punta de prueba negra de la pinza amperimétrica a la conexión COM y la punta de prueba roja a la conexión INPUT (entrada). 2. Coloque el selector en la posición . 3. Seleccione las mediciones CA con el botón FUNC. Instaure la selección de rango automática o manual con el botón RANGE. 4. 6.15. Medir temperaturas CUIDADO No conecte las sondas a circuitos eléctricos para evitar choques eléctricos. 1. Coloque el selector en la posición TEMP. 2. Seleccione °C o °F con el botón FUNC. 3. 6. Bedienungsanweisungen 6.1. Data-Hold-Taste Drücken Sie auf die DATA-HOLD-Taste wenn Sie wollen, dass das Multimeter den Messwert speichert. Drücken Sie nochmals auf die Taste um die Funktion zu deaktivieren 6.2. 6.8. Gleichspannung messen WARNUNG Überschreiten Sie nie die maximale Eingangsspannung von 600V DC!! Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig beim Arbeiten mit hohen Spannungen, dies um elektrische Schläge zu vermeiden. 1. Verbinden Sie die schwarze Messleitung mit der COM-Buchse und die rote mit der Eingangsbuchse (INPUT). 2. Stellen Sie den Bereichsschalter in den richtigen V-Bereich-Stand. 3. Drücken Sie auf die FUNC-Taste um die Gleichspannung-Messung zu wählen.

ANMERKUNGEN • Das LCD-Display zeigt die Überlastungsanzeige "OL" wenn der Messwert zu hoch für den von Ihnen gewählten Bereich ist. Wählen Sie einen höheren Bereich. • Stellen Sie den Bereichsschalter in den höchsten Stand, wenn Sie die Belastungsintensität nicht im Voraus kennen. • Beachten Sie die Grenzwerte : der max.
