LM-series fork-mountable booms 01/11
The center of gravity has a vertical component as well as a horizontal component. The vertical center of gravit
y
(VCG) is located 38 inches (~97 cm) from the bottom edges of the fork pockets. The horizontal center of gravit
y
(HCG) ranges from 3 inches up to 8 inches from the front edge of the vertical support. As depicted in the diagra
m
above:
Retracted horizontal center of gravity (RHCG)
: boom fully retracted, with a load attached at position A, th
e
horizontal center of gravity is located 8 inches (~20cm) from the front edge of the vertical support;
Extended horizontal center of gravity (EHCG)
: boom fully extended, with a load attached at position I, th
e
center of gravity is located 3 inches (~7.6cm) from the front edge of the vertical support.
A
ll other combinations of boom extension and load position yield horizontal centers of gravity located
3
inches to 8 inches from the front edge of the vertical support. (See “Range of possible horizontal center
s
of gravity” in diagram above).
