• Ensurethatthereissufcientventilationduringoperation.Nevercoverupthechargerorthemainsunit.
Leave enough of a distance (at least 20 cm) between charger and other objects. Overheating causes a
dangerofre!
• Thechargermayonlybeconnectedtoastabiliseddirectcurrentvoltageof12V/DCasvoltage/current
supply (e.g. via the included mains unit).
• Donotoperatetheproductunattended.Despiteaconsiderablenumberofprotectivecircuits,itis
impossible to exclude the possibility of malfunctions or problems during the charging process.
• Donotwearanymetalorconductivematerials,suchasjewellery(necklaces,bracelets,rings,etc.)whi-
leyouareworkingwiththechargerorbatteries.Short-circuitposesadangerofburnsandexplosion.
• Neverplacemetallinesandcontactsbetweentherechargeablebatteryandthechargingslot!
• Thechargermustonlybeusedtocharge(ordischarge)rechargeablebatteriesoftypeNiMH,NiCdand
NiZn.Neverinsertanyotherrechargeablebatteries(e.g.lithiumbatteries)orevennon-rechargeable
batteriesintothecharger.Thereisgreatdangerofreorexplosion!
• Onlyoperatetheproductinmoderateclimate,neverintropicalclimate.Formoreinformationonaccep-
tableenvironmentalconditions,seethechapter„TechnicalData“.
• Neveroperatethedeviceimmediatelyafteritwastakenfromacoldroomtoawarmroom.Theresul-
tingcondensationmayleadtomalfunctionsordamage!Themainsunitposesadangerofpotentially
fatalelectricshock!
• Lettheproductreachroomtemperaturebeforetakingitintooperationagain.Thismaytakeseveral
hours!
• Avoidoperationindirectproximityofstrongmagneticorelectromagneticelds,transmitteraerialsor
HF generators. This can affect the control electronics.
• Ifyouhavereasontobelievethatthedevicecannolongerbeoperatedsafely,disconnectitimmediate-
lyandmakesureitisnotoperatedunintentionally.
Then disconnect the charger from the voltage supply and unplug the mains cable from the mains outlet.
Donotusetheproductanymoreafterthis,buttakeittoaspecialisedworkshopordisposeofitinan
environmentally compatible manner.
• Itcanbeassumedthatoperationwithoutdangerisnolongerpossibleifthedevicehasanyvisibleda-
mage,thedevicenolongerworks,afterextendedstorageunderunsuitableconditionsorafterdifcult
transport conditions.
• Iftheproductisnottobeusedforanextendedperiodoftime(e.g.storage),removeanyrechargeable
batteries inserted in the charger, disconnect the charger from the operating voltage and pull the mains
cableofthemainsunitfromthemainssocket.
Keep the entire product at a dry, clean site that is not accessible to children.
