10. FUNCTIONS
a) Rechargeable Battery Programmes
The„ChargeManager2024“providesatotalofsixrechargeablebatteryprogrammesforprocessingtherecharge-
ablebatteries:
• Recharging(„RCH“=„RECHARGE“)
• Discharge(„DIS“=„DISCHARGE“)
• Testedcharging(„PCH“=„PROCHARGE“)
• Cycle(„CYC“=„CYCLE“)
• Revive(„ALV“=„ALIVE“)
• Maximise(„MAX“=„MAXIMIZE“)
b) Maintenance Charge
Iftherechargeablebatteryisleftinthechargeranditisrequired,themaintenanceprogramme„TRICKLE“(display
„TRI“)isstartedautomatically.
c) Energy Saving Mode
Ifallprogrammesareprocessed(display„RDY“)andthewheelencoderisnotpushed,thechargerswitchesinto
energy saving mode after approx. one minute. The display is also switched off in this. Pressing the wheel encoder,
inserting another cell, possibly removing cells or starting the maintenance charge will lead to leaving of the energy
savings mode.
If there is a USB connection from a PC to the charger, the charger will not switch to power saving mode.
Automaticrecognitionofdeep-discharged9-Vblocksisnotincludedhere,sincethisiscontradictorytomaximum
energyefciency.Ifadeep-dischargedrechargeablebatteryistobeinserted,activatethedevicewith„OK“(pushing
the wheel encoder).
d) Memory-Backup
Thischargerhasamemorybackup;thismeansthatprogrammesandtheaccumulatedcapacityvaluesofbatteries
areretainedforuptooneweekwithoutpowersupply.Thispermits,e.g.,thecontinuationoflong-termprogrammes
suchas„ALIVE“or„MAXIMIZE“atalatertime.
Important!
• Neverchangethebatterywhenpowereddown!Thechargernolongerassumesthevaliddataand
therewouldbeincorrectvaluesanddamagetothereplacedbattery!
• Continuousandprogrammesisonlypossibleiftheinstalledbuffermemorywasloaded.Forthis,the
charger must be connected to the voltage supply for at least two hours.
