8. Before rst use
a) Inserting the battery before rst use
Themetercomeswithablockbatterythatmustbeinsertedbeforerstuse.Toinsertthebattery,proceedasfollows:
1. Loosen the battery compartment screw on the back with a suitable screwdriver and remove the battery compart-
ment cover from the battery compartment (16).
2. Connect the battery to the battery connector in the correct polarity and insert the battery into the compartment
without trapping the connection cables.
3. Carefully replace the battery compartment cover in the reverse order and screw it in place.
b) Checking the battery status and replacing the battery
The battery status is shown on the LCD display (7). The battery status symbol is displayed when the battery capacity is
too low to continue operating the meter. To avoid incorrect measurements, the battery must be replaced immediately.
Ensure that the meter is switched off before replacing the battery.
Replacetheusedbatterywithanewoneofthecorrecttype.Toreplacethebattery,followthestepsabove.
Removetheusedbatteryfromthebatterycompartmentbeforeinsertinganewbattery.
c) Connecting the sensors
The wind speed, light intensity, temperature and humidity sensors should be connected to the connection socket panel
on the left-hand side of the housing.
Todothis,openthecovertoexposetheconnectionsocketpanel(11).Carefullypryitwithangernailatthe
bottom end.
After completing your measurements, close the cover to protect the sockets against contamination.
Connect the humiditiy and temperature sensor (8) to the RH% TEMP socket.
Connect the anemometer probe (17) to the WIND socket.
Connect a computer (PC) to the USB port.
Connect the light measuring probe (6) to the LIGHT socket.
The type-K temperature sensor should be connected to the TYPE K + and - sockets.
