ENGINE

4-cylinder in-line liquid-cooled gasoline engine. Cylinder block in special cast iron. Bores directly in

block.

Cylinder head in light-alloy. Separate inlet and exhaust passages. Single, overhead camshaft.

Engine lubrication is provided by a gear pump driven from the crankshaft. Full-flow type oil filter.

Exhaust emission control accomplished by fuel injection. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (some models also

equipped with Lambda-sond

system and 3-way catalytic converter). Closed crankcase ventilation

system and evaporative emission control system.
