Search via POI
Enter destination via search of POI options.

also denominated as "point of interest"
and "facility".
The map database contains a large number
of searchable POI

options which can be
specified as destinations.
All searches of POI options take place using
the daisy wheel (p. 27) and subsequent
options in the results lists. Highlight the
required option in the results list + OK and
finish by selecting one of the following:
•
Set single destination - Deletes any
previous destination in the itinerary and
starts guidance to the current destination.
•
Add as waypoint - Select + OK to add
the address to the itinerary.
•
Information - Select + OK to view infor-
mation about the selected destination.
•
Save - stores the address in the memory
as Stored location or as Home.
The procedure is the same as described
under the heading "Country, city/town and
street" in Search via Address (p. 42).
With name
The menu option By name + OK leads
directly to the daisy wheel and refers to
searching of POI options with their proper
name, e.g. "Peppes Bodega". The search
area is the whole of the current map area, e.g.
EUROPE, see (p. 85).
With category
The menu option By category enables lim-
ited searching of POI options - select to enter
their category (e.g. bank/hotel/museum),
proper name, country and/or city/town.
Around the car
The menu option Near the car refers to
searching of POI options around the car's
current position.
Along the route
The menu option Along the route refers to
searching of POI options along the set itiner-
ary.
Near the destination
The menu option Near the destination
refers to searching of POI options in the vicin-
ity of the destination.
