Who Should Use This Guide
This guide is intended for Avid Resellers. It describes the procedures
necessary to make changes to an IBM 6868 system and how to
integrate the needed hardware and application software to produce a
fully Avid integrated system for the end user.
About This Guide
The guide is designed as a reference to answer the “How do I do
that?” questions that come with any step involved in integrating the
hardware and the application software into an Avid Xpress system.
This guide is not designed as:
•A Windows

2000 troubleshooting guide
• An upgrade guide from the IBM 6689 system to the
IBM 6868 system
This guide uses modular chapters that allow the user to find and use
information easily.
The Contents lists all topics included in this guide. They are presented
with the following overall structure:
• Chapter 1, “Document Overview,” provides information about
the guide and how you would use it.
• Chapter 2, “System Overview,” explains the Avid Xpress systems,
the board sets available, and what you need to do to fully integrate
the board sets into an Avid Xpress system.
• Chapter 3, “Checking the Basic IBM 6868 System,” explains how
you would check the IBM 6868 system as it is shipped by IBM.
