INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Rhyme & Discover Book™ learning toy! The VTech® Rhyme & Discover Book™ is an interactive story book for toddlers 9 months and up. This children’s book comes to life with lights, sounds and music as well as a variety of buttons to push and slide. Children can choose from six nursery rhymes. Each nursery rhyme is accompanied by a melody and sound effect relating to the nursery rhyme.

GETTING STARTED BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 3. Install 2 new “AAA” (UM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.) 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover. BATTERY NOTICE • Install batteries correctly observing the polarity ( +, - ) signs to avoid leakage. • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not use batteries of different types.
PRODUCT FEATURES 1. ON/OFF To turn the unit ON, press the MOTHER GOOSE BUTTON on the front cover or open the book to any page. To turn the unit OFF, simply close the book. To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. 3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF To preserve battery life, the VTech® Rhyme & Discover Book™ will automatically power-down after several minutes without input. The book can be turned on again by turning the pages, or pressing any button.
1. When the book is closed, press the MOTHER GOOSE BUTTON to hear a random story and melody. Press the button again while the story is playing to hear a sound effect play over the story. The happy face light will flash along with the music. 2. When the book is open, turn the pages or you can slide or move the buttons to hear the story and melody relating to the two pages facing you. Slide or move the button again while the story is playing to hear a sound effect play over the story.

Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
