The other party cannot hear my voice during a call. • Make sure the mute feature is not turned on during a call (page 26). Registration failed appears on the handset.
Appendix Troubleshooting The blue or red light keeps flashing on the headset • key. Different flashing patterns of the red and/or blue lights indicate different conditions of headset. See Headset indicators on page 67. The headset does not charge in the telephone base. • Make sure the telephone base power adapter is securely plugged into an electrical outlet (page 2). For optimum daily performance, return the headset to the telephone base after use.
Appendix Troubleshooting I cannot hear any ring tone from the cordless headset when there is an incoming call. • The headset does not have an external ringer. The ring tone can only be heard through the headset earpiece. • Make sure the headset ringer volume is not set to the lowest level (page 18). • If you have pressed MUTE/FLASH on the cordless headset when it is ringing, it mutes the ring tone of the headset. The ring tone resumes on the next call.
Appendix Troubleshooting My caller ID features are not working properly. • Caller ID is a subscription service. You must subscribe to this service from your telephone service provider for this feature to work on your telephone. • The caller may not be calling from an area which supports caller ID. • Both your and your caller’s telephone service providers must use equipment compatible with the caller ID service. • The caller ID information shows after the first or second ring.
Appendix Troubleshooting Out of range OR No pwr at base shows in the handset screen. • The handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the telephone base. • Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the telephone base. Wait for 15 seconds, then plug in the power adapter and install the battery again.
Appendix Troubleshooting The outgoing announcement is not clear. • When recording the announcement, make sure you speak in a normal tone of voice towards the microphone of the handset. • Make sure there is no background noise when recording. The answering system does not record messages. • Make sure the answering system is on (see page 54). • When the answering machine memory is full, it does not record new messages until some old messages are deleted.
Appendix Troubleshooting The answering system does not respond to remote commands. • Make sure your remote access code is correct (page 55). • Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telephone. When dialing a number, there should be tones. If there are clicks, then it is not a touch-tone telephone and cannot activate the answering system. • The answering system may not detect the remote access code when your announcement is playing. Wait until the announcement is over before entering the code.
