Using the Drive with a Mac Computer
The My Passport Ultra drive is formatted as a single NTFS partition for compatibility
with updated Windows operating systems. To use the drive on Mac OS X operating
systems, and to use Time Machine, if you want, you must reformat the drive to a
single HFS+J partition.

Reformatting the drive erases all its contents. If you have already saved
files on the drive, be sure to
back them up before reformatting it.

Restoring the WD Software
After you have reformatted your My Passport Ultra drive for use on Mac computers,
go to http://support.wdc.com and see Knowledge Base answer ID 7 for information
about downloading and restoring the Mac versions of the WD Drive Utilities and
WD Security software on your My Passport Ultra drive.
The WD Backup software is not available for Mac computers.
