Frequently Asked Questions

For models 22, 22s, 44 & 66 (does not apply to models 44S, 44.1, 66.1, &
70)
Stratified battery: A stratified battery will measure a healthy voltage
(~12.6V) at first, but as soon as you go to start the engine the voltage
can drop to below 3V, triggering the Weego to cut off power. A battery
becomes stratified when it’s been sitting around for months, and/or
when it’s only driven short distances (less than 15 minutes) for an
extended time. You may need a new battery.
Low vehicle battery voltage: The Weego initially sees a weak but
adequate charge in the vehicle to jump start (3V-5V), but at soon as
the engine turns over the vehicle battery voltage drops out of range
(below 3V) and the Weego disconnects. In short, the vehicle battery
may be too dead to start with your Weego.
MY UNIT WON’T POWER ON/CHARGE/CHARGE PAST A FEW LIGHTS.
If your unit won’t power on, won’t take a charge OR won’t charge past a few lights then it’s
been overdischarged. This can happen if the unit is left ON, or if an engine pulled the Weego
battery past a certain limit during a jump start.
Please reach out to support@myweego.com to let them know about this issue we’ll
receive and test the overdischarged Weego, then determine if we can repair it or if it needs
to be fully replaced.
MY UNIT WON’T TURN ON AFTER I HAVE USED IT TO JUMPSTART MY VEHICLE.
If Weego will not power on after a jump start, it needs to be connected to a charger to
“reset” – this action only requires a few seconds on the charger.
Connect Weego to provided wall charger
If on the road, connect Weego do DC charger provided (cigarette
charger) even if your car battery is dead, it will still have enough
power to reset your Weego.
Please note: It is normal for the LED battery indicator lights on your
unit to flash when you plug your unit into the charger.
I’M HAVING TROUBLE STARTING MY MERCURY OPTIMAX ENGINE
Mercury Optimax outboard marine engines have a heavy power draw before the engine
even starts the electronics quickly drain any battery connected to that engine. In addition,
if the battery connected to the engine is less than 11V, the engine will not turn on (the
electronic systems require 11V minimum to operate).
We have experienced many instances where a Weego is connected to an Optimax, and the
Optimax drains the Weego down to 11V before a jump start even occurs. When this
happens, the boats engine shuts down. We advise that you purchase one of our largest
models, the N66 or the N70, for your Mercury Optimax engine. We also suggest you charge
these units to 100% before use to ensure the best performance. The larger capacity of these
units will help with the heavy power draw and strict voltage requirement of your engine.
