defects must be eliminated immediately. Before using the
soldering tool, protective devices or slightly damaged parts
must always be examined for perfect and specified opera-
tion. Check to see if the movable parts are working perfect-
ly and are not jamming, or if parts are damaged. Every part
must be correctly fitted and must satisfy all the requirements
necessary to guarantee trouble-free operation of the solde-
ring tool. Damaged protective devices and parts must be
properly repaired or replaced by a recognised specialist
workshop, except where otherwise specified in the
Operating Instructions.
Never work on voltage-carrying parts.
The handles on soldering tools with an antistatic design are
conductive.

tions must be observed.
Personal prerequisites
Untidiness at the workplace increases the risk of acci-
dents.
When the soldering tool is not being used, always replace it
in its original place of deposit. Keep all combustible objects,
liquids or gases well away from the hot soldering tool.
Avoid abnormal posture.
Arrange your work station in an ergonomically correct way.
Avoid bad posture when working. Bad posture causes postu-
ral deformity. Always use the correct soldering tool for the
job.
Be alert.
Pay attention to what you are doing. Approach your work
sensibly. Do not use the soldering tool if you are having dif-
ficulty concentrating.
Maintenance and repair
Take good care of your soldering tool.
Work will be better and safer if the soldering tool is kept
clean.
Please adhere to the instructions on soldering tip
replacement and where applicable to the maintenance
instructions for the tools and devices.
Maintenance work must be carried out by qualified
personnel only.
Before performing maintenance work, allow the soldering
tool time to cool down and disconnect the voltage.
Check all connected cables and hoses on a regular basis.
Stop using faulty power tools immediately.
Repair work must be carried out only by qualified specialists.

Always have your soldering tool repaired by a qualified
electrician.

Supplementary safety information
Hot air stations
If hot air stations are used, combustible gases must not be
connected.

gases.
Soldering fume extraction device
The operator of the machine is responsible for observing sta-
tutory emission levels at the workplace.
The soldering fume extraction device must not be used to
extract combustible gases.
Contaminated filters must be disposed of as hazardous
waste.
Follow the information on changing the filters.
Vapour-phase soldering system
Never operate the soldering system without process media.
Under no circumstances place your hands in the hot solde-
ring system. The vapour is invisible and can cause very
serious burns.
Always wear gloves when removing the soldered part. Avoid
touching parts in the system interior.
