8.Troubleshooting
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Valve is leaking.
• loose/cracked fittings • tighten/replace fittings
• worn hose • replace hose
• valve spools are worn • replace valve
Machine operates slowly.
• oil is hot • check oil level and add oil if
required
• blockage in hydraulic
lines
• suction hose blocked or kinked
• tractor / skid steer
loader is not producing
enough oil volume
and/or pressure
• either speed up the engine to pro-
duce more flow/pressure, or the
power unit does not have enough
capacity
• filter plugged (if
equipped)
• change filter
Hammer goes part way up,
sticks, and stops.
• mast is bent • check mast for alignment or
obstructions
• oil level is too low • cylinder ran out of oil; check oil
level
• pump is worn out • replace pump
• relief valve set too low • adjust relief valve
Hydraulic cylinder leaking.
• worn seal • replace seal
Mast Cylinder is leaking.
• aluminium head nut is
loose
• tighten nut
• worn seal • replace seal
Extreme trailer bounce when
operating. (SP Pounder and
Trailer Models Only)
• low tire pressure • inflate tires to tire specifications
Excess movement in square
slide box.
• plastic sliders are worn • replace plastic sliders
• washers are spacing
box too far apart
• remove one washer per bolt and
retighten
Honda motor won’t start. (Gas
Models Only)
• oil low • check oil level as this engine has
an oil alert and will not run when
the oil is low; refer to engine man-
ual for more details
Slider tube gets stuck in slider
box.
• slider box is too tight • lubricate the slider tube and box
with a dry silicone lubricant
• loosen bolts on slider tube until the
tube starts to slide, work back and
forth until loosened up and then
retighten bolts; if still sticking, add
another washer
• relief valve is set too
low
• adjust relief valve by loosening the
nut and turning the set screw
clockwise 1/8 of a turn; if still stick-
ing, try again
