Instruction for Use

10
Model with separate freezer compartment
Frozen food can be stored in the freezer compartment (for the length of time specified on the
packaging) and fresh food can be frozen. The quantity of foodstuffs that can be frozen within a 24 hour
period is indicated on the type plate. Place fresh food in the fast-freeze area of the freezer compartment
(see abridged instructions) and leave sufficient room around the packaging for air to circulate. Never
refreeze foodstuffs, even if only partially defrosted. The food must always be packaged in a way that pre-
vents the ingress of water, fluid or condensation.
Production of ice cubes
Fill the ice cube trays (if provided) to the 2/3rds point with water and place them in the freezer compar-
tment. Never use sharp or pointed tools to break off the ice.
Drawer removal (dependent on model)
Pull the drawer out as far as possible, lift it and remove it. To increase the storage capacity, you can also
use the freezer compartment without drawers.
Ensure that the door closes correctly after placing foodstuffs on the wire trays ./ shelves.
Models with an internal freezer compartment
Fresh food can also be frozen in the freezer compartment .
The quantity of foodstuffs that can be frozen within a 24 hour period
is indicated on the type plate.
Freezing fresh food:
Place the food directly on the base of the freezer compartment
Place the food in the center of the compartment, avoiding con-
tact with food that is already frozen, maintaining a distance of about 20
mm on all sides.
FREEZER COMPARTMENT
On models with the No Frost feature, no further defrosting operations are required.
On other models, the formation of ice is a normal occurrence.
The quantity and speed of ice formation depends on ambient conditions, and on how frequently the door
is opened. It is advisable to reduce the temperature setting or, if present, to activate the fast-freeze
function (see abridged instructions) four hours prior to removal of the food from the freezer
compartment to extend the life of the food preserving agents during the defrosting process. Shut down
the appliance to defrost it, and remove the drawers. Place the frozen food items in a cool place. Leave the
door open to enable the unit to defrost, i.e. the ice to thaw. It is advisable to put absorbent cloths on the
floor of the freezer compartment and to wring them out at regular intervals to limit the spread of thaw
water.
Clean the interior of the freezer compartment and dry it carefully.
Switch the appliance back on and place the food items back in the appliance.
