Additional Functions
Turn signal sounds off:
Press and hold the LEFT/RIGHT and UP/DOWN
buttons at the same time for 3 seconds to turn
the signal sounds off. To turn them back on,
press and hold the LEFT/RIGHT and UP/DOWN
buttons again for 3 seconds.
Protection Modes
The evaporative air cooler features three protection modes:
1. Water Tank empty
If the evaporative air cooler is on and the water tank is empty,
the unit will shut off after 50 seconds and the air cooler will
beep for 10 seconds.
2. Water Tank removed
The water tank must be in place for Cool mode to operate. If
the water tank is removed while the Cool mode is on, the Cool
mode will turn off, an alarm tone will sound, and the fan will
continue to run.
3. Power Failure
In the event of a power failure, the evaporative air cooler will
immediately stop. When power is restored, the vent louvers
will close, then the evaporative air cooler will beep and
automatically resume operation at the previous settings after
approximately 30 seconds.
Filling the Water Tank
For effective cooling, the water tank must be lled before using
Cool mode.
When the tank is removed from the machine, the evaporative air
cooler will turn off. This is normal.
1. Remove the water tank

Remove the water tank by turning the water tank lock to the
unlocked position. Pull the water tank straight out from the
bottom back of the evaporative air cooler.
2. Fill the water tank
NOTE: Fill the water tank with cool, clean water. The water tank
has a capacity of about 12.6 pints (5.9 L). Do not exceed the
maximum ll level.
Slide the water tank completely back into the evaporative
air cooler and turning the water tank lock back to the locked
position.
For Added Cooling Power
For additional cooling power, add ice cubes to the water tank, or
use the ice packs (included with some models).
Using the Ice Packs
Simply place the ice packs in the freezer until completely frozen,
insert one at a time in a full water tank. Rotate the thawed ice
pack with a frozen ice pack for continued additional cooling
effect.
