z Keep the cutting parts sharp and clean.
Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges will rarely get jammed and are
easier to operate.
z When using the electric tool, the accesso-
ries and replacement parts, strictly ad-
here to the instructions in this manual.
Take into account the actual working con-
ditions and the task in hand. The use of
electric tools for purposes other than the in-
tended can lead to dangerous situations.
Proper use of battery-powered tools
z Recharge the battery only with chargers
that have been specifically recommended
by the manufacturer. If a different charger is
used, there is a risk of fire.
z Operate the electric tool only with the bat-
tery provided for this task. The use of other
batteries can lead to injury or fire.
z Ensure that the battery is never in contact
with metal objects such as paper clips,
coins, keys, nails or screws, as they could
short-circuit the contacts. Short-circuiting
the battery contact can lead to fire and injury
from burns.
z If the battery is used incorrectly, fluid
might leak out. Avoid contact with the flu-
id. In event of accidental contact, rinse
with water. In case of fluid contact with
the eyes, consult a doctor. Leaking battery
fluid can cause irritation of the skin and
burns.
Service
z If the electric tool needs to be repaired,
have the repair carried out by specialist
personnel and instruct them to use only
original spare parts. This ensures the ope-
rational safety of the equipment.
Tool-specific safety instructions
z Check the tool to ensure that all mounted
parts are properly secured and inspect it for
damage and excessive wear. Do not operate
the tool if the blade protection is damaged.
z Sharp cutting blade - keep your hands away
from the blade while the tool is in operation.
When working with the tool, always wear pro-
tective gloves.
z The blade protection and the protective glo-
ves reduce the risk of injury.
Charger
z Operate the charger only in a dry room.
z Disconnect it from the power supply by remo-
ving the plug from the socket. Do not pull the
plug by the cable as this could damage the
equipment so that its electrical safety might
be impaired.
z Never use the charger, if there is visible da-
mage to the cable, the plug or the charger
itself. In this case, have the charger repaired
at a specialized workshop.
z Never open the charger housing. In the event
of malfunction, have the charger repaired by
a specialized workshop.
Battery
z As a result of incorrect use, fluid can leak
from the rechargeable battery. Avoid contact
with the fluid. In event of accidental contact,
rinse with water. In case of fluid contact with
the eyes, consult a doctor. Leaking battery
fluid can cause irritation of the skin and
burns.
z In the event of improper use of the battery
pack, there is a risk of escaping hazardous
vapors. Always ensure proper ventilation and
immediately consult a doctor, if you feel un-
well. The vapors might irritate the respiratory
track.
1 Risk of fire!

flammable materials.
z Charge the battery only at a tempera-
ture between 0 °C and + 60 °C (10 - 32
). After heavy use, allow battery to cool
down before charging it.
1 Risk of explosion!
Protect the battery-powered trimmer from
direct exposure to heat and fire.

Avoid prolonged direct exposure to
sunlight.
z Operate the battery-powered shears
only at temperatures between -20 to +
45 °C (-4 to 113 °F)
1 Risk of short circuit
z For disposal, transport or storage,
pack the battery in a plastic bag or a
cardboard box, or isolate the contacts
with adhesive tape.
z Do not open the battery pack.
