2. Withthe drivecontrolreleased,there mustbe 1/8"
clearancebetweenthe frictionwheelandthe drive
pulleyin all positionsof theshift lever.
3. Withthe drivecontrolengaged,the frictionwheelmust
contactthe drive pulley.Referto Figure28on page
18.
4. Ifadjustmentis necessary,loosenthe lowerhexnut
on thedrive cableindexbracketandpivotthe bracket
upwardor downwardas necessary.Referto Figure15.
Tightenthe lowerhexnut to securethebracketwhen
correctadjustmentis reached.
5. Reassemblethe framecoverandturnthe unitbackto
its operatingposition.
NOTE: Ifyou placedplasticunderthe gascap,becertain
to removeit now.
Skid Shoes
The spacebetweenthisshaveplateandthe groundcan
be adjusted.Forclosesnowremoval,placeskidshoesin
the low position.Usemiddleorhighpositionwhenareato
be clearedis uneven.
1. Adjustskidshoesby looseningthefour locknuts
andcarriageboltsand movingskid shoesto desired
position.SeeFigure16Aor 16B.
2. Makecertainthe entirebottomsurfaceof skidshoes
areagainstthe groundto avoidunevenwearon the
skidshoes.
3. Tightennutsandboltssecurely.
NOTE: Somemodelsareequippedwith reversibleskid
shoesandmaybeturnedoverto increasetheir lifespan.
