Neverstore snow
thrower with fuel
intank indoors or
in poorlyventilated
areas, where fuel
fumes may reach an
openflame, spark
or pilot light as on a
furnace, water heater,
clothes dryer or gas
appliance.
Drainfuel into an
approved container
outdoors, awayfrom
any open flame. Be
certain engine is
cool. Do not smoke.
Fuel left in engine
duringwarm weather
deterioratesand will
cause serious
starting problems.
Do notdrain
carburetor if
usingfuel stabilizer.
Never use engineor
carburetor cleaning
products inthe fuel
tank or permanent
damage may occur.
Observethe following,whenpreparingyoursnowthrower
for off-seasonstorage:
* Drainfuelinto anapprovedcontaineroutdoors,away
fromany openflame.Allowengineto cool. Extinguish
cigarettes,cigars,pipesandothersourcesof ignition
priorto drainingfuel.Fuelleft inengineduringwarm
weatherdeterioratesandwill causeseriousstarting
problems.
* If unitis to bestoredover30 days,preparefor storage
as instructedin the separateenginemanualpacked
with yourunit.
* Runengineuntil fueltankis emptyandenginestops
due to lackof fuel.
Removegasolinefromcarburetorandfuel tankto
preventgumdepositsfromformingon thesepartsand
causingpossiblemalfunctionof engine.
Draincarburetorbypressingupwardon bowldrain,
locatedbelowthe carburetorcover.
* Fuelstabilizers,suchas STA-BIL®,areanacceptable
alternativein minimizingthe formationof fuelgum
depositsduringstorage.Donot draincarburetorif
usinga fuelstabilizer.
* Wipe equipmentwithanoiledragto preventrust.
* Removesparkplugandpourone ounceof engineoil
throughsparkplugholeintocylinder.Coversparkplug
holewith rag.Crankengineseveraltimesto distribute
oil. Replacesparkplug.
* Followthe lubricationrecommendationsfoundinthe
MaintenanceSection.
* Alwaysstorethe snowthrowerin a clean,dry area.
