Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 1: Step 2: Unpack and identify parts. Begin assembly by placing four 2x6x56" in a square. Place four corner braces at each corner. Holes on 2x6's and corner brackets are offset. A good pattern to use is left-low, right-high. This pattern should be used in the entire framing process. Step 3: Step 4: Place tower 4x4 in corner. Alight pre-drilled holes on 4x4 with pre-drilled holes on 2x6. Using 6 7/8" bolts, begin fastening 2x6's to tower 4x4.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 5: Step 6: Bolts should be flush with outside of 2x6 before putting on the bracket. You will be able to tap on the acorn nut after the bolt has started coming through the bracket. Doing so prior may damage the threads on the bolt. Step 7: Step 8: Place washer and acorn nut on bolt. Only finger tighten at this point. Repeat steps 3-7 on the remaining three corners, then measure across the corners to be sure tower is square.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 9: Tighten all bolts using 9/16" deep socket and 9/16" open end wrench. Keep in mind that over-tightening can damage the acorn nut. Step 11: Repeat steps 4-7 to assemble the "floor ring." Tighten all bolts using 9/16" deep socket and 9/16" open end wrench. Again, keep in mind that over-tightening can damage the acorn nut. 6 Step 10: This is how your set should look at this point. Step 12: This is how the completed "floor ring" should look.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 13: Step 14: You are now ready to complete the install of the floor. Using the template provided, fasten joist hangers at proper positions. Fasten white metal joist hanger using 1 3/4" stainless steel washer head screw provided. Template will show amount of joist hangers that should be used. Install joists as shown. Top of joist should be flush with top of 2x6. Note: there will be three floor joists. Step 15: Step 16: Installed joists. Lay out floorboards.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 17: Step 18: Fasten floorboards using 1 1/2" screws provided. Repeat steps 4-7 to assemble the "top ring." Tighten all bolts using 9/16" deep socket and 9/16" open end wrench. Again, keep in mind that over-tightening can damage acorn nut. Step 19: Complete main structure assembly by fastening "lips" of corner braces to 2x6's using 1 3/4" washer head screws provided. Each bracket will use four screws except the bottom side of the "sandbox ring.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 21: Step 22: Spacing between slats for step ladder should be 25 3/4". Be sure top of ladder is flush with top of floor. Attach using four 1 1/2" screws provided. Step 23: Step 24: Spacing between slats for slide should be 25 3/4". Same spacing should be used for rockwall. Fasten slide to floor using three 1 3/4" screws provided. Be sure screws are going through the decking and into the 2x6 of the floor ring, not just into the decking.
Pluto Vinyl Playset Assembly Manual Step 25: This is how your set should look at this point. Note: The positions of the slide and step ladder are interchangeable and can be placed anywhere on the tower according to your preference. This is simply done by removing slats wherever needed. You are now ready to install your swing frame. Follow the instructions on pages 11-15 for that assembly. 10 Step 26: Fasten sandbox seats to "sandbox ring" using 1 1/2" screws provided.
Swing Frame Assembly Step 1: Step 2: You are now ready to assemble the swing frame. Begin by identifying the swing beam. The end of the beam without caps gets fastened to the tower. Fasten swing bearings to swing beam using lags provided in bearing packs. Step 3: Step 4: If you purchased a plastic glider, your next step is to install the glider bracket. This bracket needs to be fastened to the opposite side of the swing beam as the swing bearings. It can be placed at any swing position.
Swing Frame Assembly Step 5: Step 6: Finish fastening using the 1 3/4" washer head screws provided. Rotate the swing beam 180 degrees so that the swing bearings are turned up. Fasten the swing beam receiver bracket to the swing beam using two 4 7/8" bolts provided. This bracket needs to be fastened to the end of the swing beam without the caps. Thread acorn nut onto bolt as far as you can, then back off several turns. Use washers between the acorn nut and the metal bracket. Tighten nuts.
Swing Frame Assembly Step 9: Step 10: Fasten corner brace to swing beam and end post. Be sure end post is plumb. Attach using six 1 3/4" washer head screws. Lift swing beam into position. One person should be up in the tower. The other person should continue to hold the end post steady. Step 11: Step 12: Push bracket against 2x6 vinyl then fasten first with two lags provided. Next predrill 7/16" holes and fasten with two 2 3/4" bolts provided, using acorn nuts and washers.
Swing Frame Assembly Step 13: Step 14: Swing beam receiver properly fastened. Identify ground runner and fasten to end post using 6 1/2" bolts. Thread acorn nut onto rod as far as you can, then back off several turns. Be sure to place washer between acorn nut and vinyl. Step 15: Step 16: Identify end post braces. Fasten the short angle to the ground runner that was installed on previous step. Use 4 /18" bolts provided.
Swing Frame Assembly Step 17: The next step is to install your roof. Follow the instructions on pages 16-18 for roof assembly. The completed swing frame should look like this.
Tarp Roof Assembly Instructions Step 1: Step 2: Fasten 2x4x80" to 4x4 posts using 3" lag screws provided. Pre-drilled holes on 2x4x80" should be centered on 4x4. Repeat on opposite side. Top of 2x4 should be flush with the bottom of the cap on the 4x4. Step 3: Step 4: Fasten 2x4 bracket to end of 2x4x37 as shown, using six 1 3/4" washer head screws provided. Fasten bracket to tower to act as a vertical support for the tarp roof. Measure to find center.
Tarp Roof Assembly Instructions Step 5: Step 6: Fasten using four 1 3/4" washer head screws provided. Should appear like this. Step 7: Step 8: Fasten 2x4x61" with caps on both ends to top using two 3" lags provided. Fasten tarp 2x4, using 3" lags, about 1/2" from the end of the horizontal 2x4 (start right next to the cap). Be sure plastic strip on cover 2x4 is on the top before fastening.
Tarp Roof Assembly Instructions Step 9: Step 10: Fasten opposite end of tarp using 3" lags provided. Be sure tarp is pulled tight. The next step is to install any components you may have purchased if you have not done that yet. Assembly instructions for components can be found on pages 19-23. Completed tarp assembly.
Component Assembly Instructions Tic-tac-toe panel: Step 1: With your tic-tac-toe panel, you will receive a 2x6x18 1/2". Fasten one end of the tic-tac-toe to 2x6, centered, using four 1 /3/4" washer head screws. Step 3: Fasten 2x6x18 1/2" to poly slats on railing using four 1 3/4" washer head screws. Step 2: Fasten opposite end to tower at any desired location, using four 1 3/4" washer head screws. Step 4: Completed install should look similar to this.
Component Assembly Instructions Hammock Swing: 6WHS 1: 6WHS 2: Begin by identifying these parts: swivel, extra chain, two snap hooks, and hammock. Attach snap hooks to either end of extra chain and then connect one end of the extra chain to the swing swivel and one end to the hammock. 6WHS 3: Completed install should look similar to this.
Component Assembly Instructions Framing for peek-a-boo panel, tornado tube, tunnel express, and sidewinder slides: Step 1: Fasten small angle brackets to 2x4x26" using 1 3/4" washer head screws. Step 3: Fasten with 1 3/4" screws at desired location according to the components you purchased with your set. Fasten one on opposite side as well to create a frame. Spacing between 2x4's should be 29 1/2". Step 2: There should be two like this one pictured when you have completed this step.
Component Assembly Instructions Tornado tube, Tunnel Express, and Sidewinder slide Assembly: Step 2: Step 1: To fasten the slide to the tower, first fasten L brackets to outside of two 2x4x26" using 1 3/4" screws provided. Then place 2x4's at desired location on tower and fasten using 1 3/4" screws. Space between vertical 2x4's should be 29 1/2". Step 3: Assemble slide and fasten slide to tower using hardware and instructions provided with slide.
Component Assembly Instructions Super Spiral Slide Assembly: Step 1: Step 2: After assembling slide according to instructions given in the box the slide came in, lift slide into place where you have already framed for the slide to be. This will take two able-bodied men. One person hold slide steady while other person goes up into the tower to fasten slide. Step 3: Fasten the slide to the upper deck using the lags provided in the hardware pack that comes with the slide.
